The more I see of American guest bedrooms, the better I understand motel decor.
the floor of my mother’s guest bedroom is covered with magazines, boxes, clothes, dvds, gardening tools, cards, newspaper clippings, and other miscellaneous impedimenta. there is a path from the door to the bed, which was difficult to make since there is no room to stand on the far side.
My parents don’t have a guest bedroom. Unless the box room, which is currently full of cardboard boxes, counts. And that prospective guests can sleep standing up.
I am in a parental guest bedroom mostly covered in needless pillows.
missing from that photo are ten (seriously) pillows I took off the bed.
