lool
i love how there’s a split second after he lands before wade & lebron run over to him, like they were totally all “wait, bosh? really?”
btw knowing the nature of the superfriends (whose third best friend is carmelo anthony) i doubt they were taunting cam as much as celebrating... with him.
lmao if you watch that clip again and just look at wade, you can see him gesture really excitedly towards LEBRON before realizing that lebron didn’t even do anything
also this play

yeah it was def in good fun but i can’t help but paint wade as the villain of this partic story
in a tie game with under three minutes left!)

Would it be exaggerating to say that that play already belongs in a regular season highlights reel?
nice post on gerald wallace/portland

so i guess the spurs are trying to have kawhi spot up for 3s? it’s great if it works, but seems like a stretch for him. also i didn’t see much of the spurs game tonight but manu is still a joy to watch.
it’s a rule, every spurs SF must shoot the corner 3. he’s been working on his shot, but his overall offensive game needs polish. his rebounding for his size and position are ridic. combo of him and d Blair means you can’t give up on the boards cos one of them will swipe the ball from you.
James Anderson is a beast off the bench, good defender, can create his own offense. avg 10.5 ppg in the first 2.
hay guys happy holidays been off travelin and watching BALL
this compressed schedule is going to kill me possibly, having the league pass preview last night i decided i can’t actually sign up for it or i’ll be watching five games at once like i tried last nite
never thought id be watching this much marquis daniels once the lockout ended, ughhh
also heat are balling this year, they are legit terrifying because they seemed to have figured out they have two of the best athletes in the world finally
spurs just mad professional as always, i forget every year how freaking good manu is, clips just folded in the third because they don’t have a coach yet
i was watching that quarter and remembered, oh yeah this team wins 60 games every year like clockwork and didn’t really make any changes, of course they’re going to be good
My offer to take any ilh reg to a blazer game anytime they’re passing through town is permanent.

^^clay i might be up in your hood in february for a few days and might have to make this happen irl fyi
teams w/personel continuity are gonna have a big advantage at the beginning of the season here is one thing were def seeing
could easily see this being the year where the spurs fall off
good post from haberstroh on why wade & bron’s no threes strategy is helping much at all
http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/miamiheat/post/_/id/10960/on-lebron-and-wades-vanishing-act-from-3
altho i think he’s right i really do think that wade should be utterly banned from attempting threes for the rest of his career
yeah theres just fundamentally a problem w/being a perimeter player in the nba and not being able to shoot the three effectively, obvs wade n bron are better equipped to compensate for that shortcoming than any other players in the league, but the fact that they both have this weakness only compounds the problem #tradebron
thankfully it does seem that lebron is gradually moving further and further away from being a perimeter player
his mid range game is so good now that i understand why he still takes a lot of mid range shots but he’s also been devastating in the post this year
just thinking in the past few mins that i think there’s a slight chance that lebron worked out insanely hard this off season and is just gonna lap everyone in the nba statistically
feel like right now his only competition for mvp is carmelo and maybe durant
i dont think you can say hes really moving away form the perimeter until they play him at pf regularly which they totally should and he stops dribbling the ball around the perimeter so much which im not sure he should
i mean lots of perimeter players fuck w/the post regularly
yeah, i guess he’s just blurring the lines a bit more
not to overload here but he’s such a good ballhandler that he really should be handling the ball a lot, but i also would love to see him become a power forward
oh well
d-wade’s jumper is okay I don’t understand why he doesn’t have a 3 point stroke
yeah but for lebron the post offense is in addition to his rebounding and shot blocking, which is obv unique for a generally perimeter oriented player
maybe wade just isn’t that good of a stand still shooter? like so many of his jumpers involve him rolling off screens or fading away or banking off glass. idk if that’s true tho.

would be crazy if he made a leap, seems kinda unlikely as hes plateaued for the last x years, which is not to say that theres not likelihood of more subtle improvement
i don’t necessarily think that lebron is going to make a leap (altho he has been playing insanely well) i just think that him being arguably the best athlete in the entire well is going to propel him to dwarf everyone else this season
yeah hes still the best player and has insane stamina so i dont see why not

hes basically ben wallace sized which is crazy to think abt, and according to this post not that much smaller than dwight howard http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/34789/kevin-love-and-height-liars-in-shoes
entire world**
there have been... i don’t want to call them rumblings cuz they’re not “rumors”, but people (i.e. windhorst) have been casually saying that bron worked out like crazy this summer (and if you follow any nba players on twitter or w/e, you’d know this — dude brought KD to ohio to work out w/ him, he was out at nike for a whole week working out etc)
yeah ‘height’ is a pretty inexact measurement
need to get some tailor tape measure around those rock hard pecs of lebron... just measure that arm circumference... oh yeah...
idk all the ‘omg he worked out so hard this summer’ ‘packed on 15 pounds of muscle’ articles are such boilerplate beat sweeteners i just ignore them
normally i’d agree w/ you (people have been saying the same thing about bosh, too) but i think it’s more pertinent now bcuz of the compressed schedule, and lebron was already so far ahead of basically everyone anyway (in terms of athleticism/conditioning etc)
i just assume all the top guys go hard in the summer otherwise they wouldnt be the top guys
who was saying that cp3 looked fat?
lol he does :/
chris paul is magical tho
srsly
fat n magical
love how lackadaisical smith is

wut he is!
it’s always really strange for me to think of him as a PF
get him off of atlanta, stick him in a SF role
he can’t shoot, he’s a PF
den-por best game tonight
otm jord
Imagine how good Josh Smith would be if he had ever had a coach.
yup
^^clay i might be up in your hood in february for a few days and might have to make this happen irl fyi
email a dude. this thing will happen.
josh smith’s problems are all his own fyi.
He has his own issues but never having a coach worth a shart isn’t his fault.
he maxed out in the 09/10 season, woodson’s last as coach. he was a borderline allstar but still lacks any focus whatsoever which leads to erratic play. only thing a good coach would do is bench him quicker imo.

Westbrook, who finished 0-for-13 with six assists, three rebounds and four turnovers, was not available for comment after the game.
this seems mostly otm to me
That reads right to me too. I think the problem is that there hasn’t been much good basketball played yet (obviously a few exceptions here and there) because it’s still training camp for these guys and a brutal one at that. Once the basketbal gets better (and boy do I hope it does) there’ll be other story lines to follow.
we should do a poll of the worst roster in the NBA
I’m looking at this suns roster and I can’t even
I thought my sixers were bad but jeez
this seems mostly otm to me

Maybe the central thesis is ok, but my god there is so much idiotic stuff in that article.
He’s not your typical point guard, and certainly not the type of point guard the world at large likes to see on its great teams. (Compare Steve Nash’s reputation as compared to that of three-time champion and one-time Finals MVP Tony Parker, who happens to be a decent comparison for Westbrook in terms of style and production.)
This is just so so so dumb.

Josh Smith is a lot like Zach Randolph pre-2011 playoffs. People seem to only focus on their mistakes and not how they’re awesome basketball players. Smith also doesn’t get enough credit for calming down and becoming a smarter player the last 2 seasons.

I firmly believe that Lebron would get his 3p% up to 37.5 (league average) if he just cut out all the ridiculous circus attempts. If he just shot open ones he’d be fine.
Wade is another story, his shooting mechanics are those of a pure midrange shooter imo.
yeah youre prob right abt bron re shot selection
bron’s stroke is not v pretty imo
it has a certain effortlessness to it
yeah but it’s a shot built for distance, while wade flattens out around 18 feet. xp
“According to 82games.com, the lineup of Maynor, Durant, James Harden, Serge Ibaka and Nick Collison had almost identical offensive and defensive points-per-possession numbers as the same unit with Westbrook.”
hmm interesting
wonder abt other units
tho obvs not that hard as i could just look it up lol
