Can someone more knowledgeable than me take a stab at who the Knicks are going to start at PG and SG? Davis and Bibby = an old, tired back line, but otoh Bibby can hit threes and Davis is a good passer. The younger guys are all pretty young and untested though. I guess whoever starts, the backup is going to see heavy play time?
feel like baron has a lot more left in the tank than bibby. i’m almost certain that he’s the starting pg and will play ~30 mpg. i imagine you’ll see a lot of different combinations of landry fields, bibby, toney douglas, etc. split between the guard spots, though.
NYK have talent, but they’re very injury-prone, and i think chandler was worth far more to dallas than he will to new-york.
most importantly, tho, i am confident that mike d’antoni will screw it up.
I can sort of see an offense that relies on Davis getting it inside to the big men quickly and kickouts to bibby. I sort of don’t know where Carmelo fits in, but I don’t exactly understand how he fits in to any offense other than just trying to score a lot.

this is very much more of a theoretical concern than a real one, in any event look at the top 10 players in the league in PER and then the top 10 in TS%, which one better reflects a player’s worth? obv it’s not a perfect stat but there’s not a better one i don’t think, composite or otherwise
getting beat backdoor by steve blake is pretty embarrassing, but paul’s still one of the best defensive 1s in the league, his advanced numbers were not great last year but he wasn’t 100% obviously—it’ll be interesting tho to see how he plays on d this year.

TS% is a stat that actually means something, PER is just a hodgepodge of garbage.
a list of the top 3p% wouldn’t be a list of the top players, but it at least means what it claims. PER means nothing.
