My students looked so bored today that I started talking about something totally nonsensical to see if they were even listening. I started talking about what I was thinking of having for lunch.

And I had planned something "fun" for them to do today too -- I set up an online forum and they were supposed to post to the threads I started about the cult of celebrity and 15 min. etc. I put a picture of Andy Warhol in my first post and then someone referred to him as "Warnot" and three people laughed at the picture.

Haha. Jesse is lounging on a pile of brocade pillows and eating grapes while demanding greater and greater levels of excitement.

Haha. "Warhol? More like WarNOT!"

(on the casino gig we were making stupid jokes like this all night)

OK, that muscle guy was kind of gross. Either the image makes his skin read too dark or his hobby is melanoma.

If that's as nice as it looks, I'll be using it a lot. I hate having to use YouTube to show people my stuff.

en i see kay (EstrangedNative), Thursday, 15 February 2007 22:15 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah, a friend on the other side of earth wants me to use it so we can send each other music and movies and stuff more easily. i guess it's worth a try.

Dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in it's funny bone (kenan), Thursday, 15 February 2007 22:21 (seventeen years ago) link

I shall use it with the new ridiculous speed internet connection I'm getting tomorrow. Somehow, the package with 20Mbs internet, DVR, HBO, and a phone line was like $12 more than simple cable and slowest internet.

Whoa, the thread's all the way down the page. I just got home after a cab ride that I had to cut short due to lack of funds. Only had to walk 5 blocks or so, no big deal. I left Jesse at the corner of Clark/Fullerton, I think he was gonna go do some shots.

danno martinez (danno martinez), Friday, 16 February 2007 07:18 (seventeen years ago) link

no big deal BIGGIE

danno martinez (danno martinez), Friday, 16 February 2007 07:19 (seventeen years ago) link

We did not have shots at the corner of Clark and Fullerton. We had a couple beers and went home like good little boys and girls.

Actually, I can only speak for myself. I look forward to other people's hangover complaints tomorrow, so I can laugh at them.

I fear their stories about not going to work, because I will envy them poisonously.

I am probably going to be hung over. I am going to work though.

The 500 sluts thread is really funny. Someone is listening to "Weeeee're in this love together..." on the radio. Why is there a shirtless hairy man standing behind Donald Rumsfeld in that picture? I just ate a bagel and I have some really disgusting coffee, too, because I didn't want to make two stops for my breakfast needs. It's possible that my co-extern won't come to work today and that would mean that I had a whole week without having to work with any annoying co-externs. Thank you weather!

Handgun O. Mendocino (pullapartgirl), Friday, 16 February 2007 14:14 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh you guys.

It is colder than ever today.

JordanC (JordanC), Friday, 16 February 2007 14:15 (seventeen years ago) link

i woke up in a coughing jag yesterday at 5 a.m., called into work at 7:30 and planned on trying to get in to see my doctor but i climbed back into bed and fell asleep then didn't wake up again until 5:18 p.m.

it was a pretty good day.

We wondered what had happened to you. Are you feeling better now?

It is cold as hell out there. I was in a bit of a fog getting dressed this morning and really made some poor clothing choices and suffered mightily as a result once I left the house.

Ooo now the radio is playing "What you won't do! You'll do for loooove... you'll try anything... but you won't give up." I like the radio today. It's smooooooooth.

Handgun O. Mendocino (pullapartgirl), Friday, 16 February 2007 14:24 (seventeen years ago) link

My man Bobby Caldwell! The smoothest.

JordanC (JordanC), Friday, 16 February 2007 14:25 (seventeen years ago) link

i am feeling better but not feeling well. no coughing jags but still trouble breathing and chest tightness. also, judging from the invoices in my gmail inbox, it would appear i bought over $100 worth of records on wednesday night. valentine's day presents to myself i guess.

Earth Wind and Fire now.

Is this the thread where I list every smooth song that plays on the radio at the ee ee oh sea?

Handgun O. Mendocino (pullapartgirl), Friday, 16 February 2007 14:33 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm listening to Deer Hunter, drinking coffee, and munching on cinnamon raisin bread.

Any crazy episodes from last night I should hear about?

We ended up not having practice. Instead, we went to CVS (fun!), bought paper for the (wedding) invitations, visited with the Ice Fact0ry guys, and then ate at Handlebar.

I just realized that wasn't a piece of paper towel on my c.r.bread, but mold, so I had to throw the rest away. Now I will feel gross and weep softly.

Keep it coming, I'm chilling vicariously.

3van's wedding is next weekend and I don't think they ever sent the invitations out. Then again I haven't bought a gift yet, so we're even.

JordanC (JordanC), Friday, 16 February 2007 14:45 (seventeen years ago) link

I am also listening to Deerhunter! Weird.

n/a (n/a), Friday, 16 February 2007 14:47 (seventeen years ago) link

There's some instrumental weather channel jazz playing now that I cannot identify.

Episodes... well, I accidentally sicced a racist, anti-semetic, stinky union electrian on our table. Then we went to Galway Arms (to get away from the RA-SSUE) and my crazy professor came out and had drinks, too, and that was weird.
