finished the first season of shadow & bone at yr suggestion

pretty decent imo. and as you said, everyone is incredibly attractive. a bit too much of her and him moping over each other. having not read the books i cannot tell all these hot people with vaguely russian names apart, but no biggie. they did a so-so job selling the bad guy as not the bad guy, but c'mon you can't make his special power Suffocating Darkness without tipping his hand

not surprised that netflix cancelled it; it looks insanely expensive

it drops off a little from what ive seen of season 2 tbh but there was plenty of reason to watch it and hopefully we'll see a lot of the cast kick on from there

its good that more and more fantasy is getting adapted but im longing for someone to manage to make magic/dark threats not such shorthand cliche

magic in WOT looks awful, bad guys just look like guys in masks, shadoe and bone was just clouds.

like i know angsty earnest puberty magic potential stories share similarities but the good ones all read as if the light and dark have their own texture in that tale, which i think is lost by use of the same effects onscreen every time

we'll give Peter Jackson his credit there at least
