yes, i didn't want to but you can't really not do that. it was ok. i'm going to the office today to clean up and move things out. it is mostly done already.

i feel like i can never leave my job because i've worked here for so long they'd never let me get away without some big do and it seems utterly excruciating. but on the other hand refusing a do would be scandalous? i don't know, this is the type of nonsense that worries me on a regular basis. "fortunately," i have a good number of years left to decide which approach i'll take.

you can totally refuse a do imo!

well it turns out i may have exactly the right amount. or i will be like 1 ft short and will use my swatch. this is a mass produced kind so i could get more but they come in giant skeins that cost like $20. so i'd have to find a partial one on the internet.

so my new job is looking to add a 4th supervisor. i have been there one month. i am crazy but not unstable and i think i would be a good supervisor. but if i apply and don't get it, will there be office politics problems? weirdness? it's only open to people already working there.

can you guarantee no office politics or weirdness under any circumstances

if not go for the option with more cash/holidays/lackeys imo

i spent years supervising part-time student staff, then full-time professional staff, then no staff, now part-time student staff and full-time professional staff. i am a good supervisor but i hate it and wish there had been a way for me to advance without becoming a supervisor again.

so, i am not a good person to ask.

i figured out that they demoted one of the 3 supervisors who it only took me a few weeks to determine i did not like. her last action was a scoldy email to everyone about different rules that were being broken. we had a big meeting on friday about some things that were going on before i got there. i think after that meeting she was demoted by the other bosses who had the meeting. i am still on some of the wrong email groups and missing half the emails. i was wondering why she has sort of disappeared.

i am thinking i will apply but i still have a couple weeks to decide. i may have a quality that is needed. because i come from a well-run district everyone likes and this is a messy one with retention problems (i knew this coming in--i am here for the good commute tbh, and won't die if i only last a few years here because i was thinking about moving on in that time frame anyway).

ive applied for a job i didnt think was a good fit but after mapping my competencies now feel I'm the natural person for the role but i dont want it and would refuse it I'm only applying for the experience but when i dont get shortlisted ill shit fury and i referred to it just there as a rollercoaster of promotions
