we are in and well ty but we appear to have a catpissy cupboard any ideas obv I'm outraged
― esperantzen (p much resigned to deems), Sunday, 1 March 2015 23:27 (nine years ago) link
take the cupboard outside and blow it up on the lawn
or
buy some carnations and put them in water and leave them in the cupboard for a week (maybe six weeks in your climate which a quick check of the weather channel has just told me is currently 25 degrees C cooler than ours) anyway you will soon forget all about the catpiss or at least think back on it with fond nostalgia.
― estela, Sunday, 1 March 2015 23:42 (nine years ago) link
it is at least that much colder
experience tells me that things go away much less quickly when you buy them flowers pray deliver an explanation as to why catpiss may be the exception

or at least give me a line to feed stace when a pissy cupboard ive only just met gets the lovey dovey treatment that she may herself (despite all outward projection tbf) have been craving this ten odd years
― esperantzen (p much resigned to deems), Monday, 2 March 2015 01:31 (nine years ago) link
gut feeling sez you'd get yr outrage followed v quickly by a domestic
― esperantzen (p much resigned to deems), Monday, 2 March 2015 01:32 (nine years ago) link
i am on team stace in this debacle so you will have to cook up your own lines.
― estela, Monday, 2 March 2015 13:11 (nine years ago) link

― esperantzen (p much resigned to deems), Monday, 2 March 2015 15:03 (nine years ago) link
I hope your pissy cupboard is resolved soon! We are in the process of scrubbing kitchen cabinets and applying new shelf lining too! I'm pretty sure this chick used a rug doctor without actually vacuuming anything first! three of four blades on the second bedroom ceiling fan are sitting on a shelf with a bag of screws. Why are they not attached to the fan? my father is a saint.

previous tenant also appears to have spread bird seed (not salt) on the driveway so now we track bird seed into the house!
― tehresa, Tuesday, 3 March 2015 03:17 (nine years ago) link
all of this seems strange to me but gl in the new place
― esperantzen (p much resigned to deems), Tuesday, 3 March 2015 07:41 (nine years ago) link
i like how around the time of the bird seed discovery tza stopped calling that daft nuisance a girl and started calling her a chick instead.

I stuck my head into our attic to see about storage space and instead of a dank leaky roof Netherland I instead found a carpeted sklyit den wired with beanbags and reading nests already wired for tv and cable and with the wall bracket for tv already installed.
an Xbox and all assorted gear appears to have been left also.
the ladder to this haven of delight pulls back up after you if you so wish.
herself is, need I say, outraged.

I'm going to attempt venetian blind restringing. Feeling wary and mentally rehearsing an excellent sequence of profanity.

I'm debating - would have been Saturday morning. BUT! that is the Pi day of the century, and do I want to remember it as That Venetian Debacle? so, possibly not til Sunday, timed for full meltdown when the JWs come knocking (generally 10ish).

I fixed my leaky roof only to discover it was a leaky window.
― toadstool might (tehresa), Tuesday, 12 July 2016 04:12 (seven years ago) link
omg. i'm kinda worried about that. i have a new roof on my house and a couple years ago i got water spots on my kitchen ceiling during a very rainy couple days. problem never returned. maybe things were just right.
― spite n ease (harbl), Tuesday, 12 July 2016 22:34 (seven years ago) link
i think my neighbor's practice of putting his trash in the alley makes the flies go in my house when it gets picked up. i'm going to make a new kind of stinky trap tomorrow. not a jarbl. this is like the nuclear option of fly traps.
― spite n ease (harbl), Thursday, 14 July 2016 01:48 (seven years ago) link
that is, putting it out on days other than trash day
― spite n ease (harbl), Thursday, 14 July 2016 01:51 (seven years ago) link
There is an alley that lets out across from my house and on windy trash days sometimes a few random items blow into my backyard. Mostly a random page of newspaper but once a donut. I am building a fence in hopes of remedying the issue. An expensive fix but basil will be quite pleased.
― toadstool might (tehresa), Thursday, 14 July 2016 04:19 (seven years ago) link
i am amused by the thought of a donut blowing into your yard.
we had our back yard fenced recently; it has been a life-changer.

Same! But they are all dozy and quite good about flying out the door with minimum prompting
My domestic outrage this week relates mainly to catsitting but it has not been without amusement

not seeing where in my house these dudes can be breeding so i'm gonna work hard this weekend on identifying any possible dead animals or stray garbage in the vicinity
― spite n ease (harbl), Thursday, 14 July 2016 23:40 (seven years ago) link
Awwww
Stray garbage is a kinda sad term
― esperantzen (p much resigned to deems), Thursday, 14 July 2016 23:53 (seven years ago) link
dude building my fence found some buried garbage today. Apparently people used to do this before trash pickup was a thing. Outrageously old trash in my yard but some cool old bottles c. 1920.
― toadstool might (tehresa), Saturday, 16 July 2016 06:05 (seven years ago) link
i set the trap on my deck. let's see if this works. i'm betting no :(
― spite n ease (harbl), Saturday, 16 July 2016 21:37 (seven years ago) link
so pleased to report the fly population in my kitchen has taken a huge dive. the offending garbage can seems to have left the area, too, so i don't know what caused it. i didn't look at the trap to see if i really caught any. i feel superstitious about it.
― spite n ease (harbl), Sunday, 17 July 2016 23:49 (seven years ago) link
nm i just looked and there are NO flies in the trap. i can't believe all that was caused by a single uncovered trash can. like i literally vacuumed up 1000 flies. or it was something in my own walls and they ran out of food. i don't know. fuck.
