ugh, ants. we ended up hiring an exterminator to deal with them. he comes quarterly. so glad.

it's a georgetown thing. jergins said he saw them on the yard waste bin yesterday, and the front steps. none inside though, knock on wood.

Yikes! Hate them. My old office (which wasn't even really that old a building) has ant issues. I'd occasionally find one crawling across my monitor.

I did 5 loads of laundry (ugh!) but none of my other chores...

this is anticipatory but we forgot to put our trash bin out for collection this morning and in the past couple of days the temperature and humidity levels have shot past spring into early summer figures so by next week things out there will be gruesome.

I took today off for much-needed study and herself has spotted an ideal opportunity to decide to be sick and is issuing frequent and gleeful demands from the bedroom (entertainment contents: one TV, one kindle, one iPad, today's newspaper) via the last of the listed entertainment items rolled into a loudspeaker, causing much outrage among the domestic staff.

if i were there i would get her a bell or a gong so she could up the ante.

oh, estie, did you want to hear the one about how i went to georgia for two weeks in the summer and left a small amount of trash in the bottom of my trashcan (small, but still against my better judgment) and came back to an outrageous amount of flies who had suicided themselves against the front window. i was almost too lazy to run outside this morning when i heard the garbage truck at 6:30 but i remembered those flies.

btw my cat just killed a fly. she works so hard at it.

were the suicide flies on the inside windowsill or were they outside trying to barge their way in?

now that we're moving into fall I feel i should perhaps finish my spring cleaning 😳

i wanted to bring tea to work so i went back inside to get it this morning and saw also honey was on the counter so i got that too. honey was not totally closed. honey dumped itself into my change thing. a pool of honey in my car. fortunately not much on carpet. this is like the 5th condiment that has spilled in my car and by far the worst. i need to just blow my car up and be done with it.

a little bit got into iphone headphone jack and the silent switch thing!!!!!!!!

sticky residue outrages are the most aggravating kind.

my car was a complete disgrace and i had to drive someone in it for work, it was embarrassing, but luckily they turned out to be not car proud either. i cleaned it after that though because having surveyed it through a stranger's eyes i knew it was beyond the pale.

last month I had to drive a professor in my car unexpectedly and it was in dire need of a wash but also full of dog hair so I played it off by asking if she was allergic. She wasn't, and told me she had two dogs so i turned the conversation to asking about her dogs to make her think my car was ok because hey, we both like dogs!

my car is always gross. i hate it.

my car is full of coffee spills and ashes. i've never had it washed, nor changed the oil. i am an irresponsible car owner and i hate driving people.

work people, that is. i would drive you people all the livelong day.

ok lxy you need to at least change the oil! something i'm working on at age 30 is being a little cleaner. i'm going to go clean the bathroom even though it's not dirty because it's my favorite thing to clean

I am so weird about cleaning. I always wash the dishes and clean the stove/counters but i hate sweeping the floor!

lol that's exactly what i do. dishes, stovetop, countertops, sink get done occasionally but floor is never done.

I have a hard time going to bed if there are dishes in the sink, but the floor? Pffft.

for a few weeks i had no legit hot water. then my kitchen sink leaked

now i have a whole kitchen sink and hot water, but no hot air/heat

my parents' oven is far too advanced for my poor self and after baking my dressing for 20 min longer than the recipe indicated and playing with the temp we finally discovered it was at 280 not 350. Nervous it is going to be terrible.
