Let's compare Marty's paychecks on Taxi Driver and The Departed, shall we? (The guy is not gonna be trapped into talking about the layers of Matt Damon's acting on a commentary track, and what a loss.)

tonight, Pan's Labyrinth ... and I have Scorsese's My Voyage in Italy waiting at home!

Make damned sure you've seen every last movie he covers, as it's spolier city.

I've seen a lot of em. Aside from twist-centered plots, I'm not a big believer in the true spoilage of spoilers.

Just Watched:
Silent Hill (well, the first 45 minutes) - KIND OF REALLY BORING. Not enough fucked up monsters. Dyke cop in leather is hawt tho. Also apparently someone gets skinned at the end so I am going to have to finish this at some point.

Soon-to-arrive Netflix:
Curb Your Enthusiasm season 1 disc 1
Eyes Without a Face (YOU GUYS I AM SO EXCITED 4 THIS 1)

Watching tonight probably:
Gozu

Eyes Without a Face

This movie is a lot stranger and tamer than I expected ... until it was extremly not tame at all.

not really necessary, the end is the worst part (in a series of pretty bad parts)

dmr (dmr), Wednesday, 3 January 2007 21:01 (seventeen years ago) link

really??? but the amount of violence sounded positively delightful.

Jessie the Monster (scarymonster), Wednesday, 3 January 2007 21:04 (seventeen years ago) link

the gun / sex scene was total Lynch, looked straight outta Wild At Heart. v. weird movie.

yeah i watched that w/my parents when i was about 15. (we rented it on videodisc!) sex stuff majorly awkward. after the gun scene my mom was like, "um, you know that's not normal sex..." and i was all "DUH, mom!" (don't know what she was worried about, we didn't even own any guns.)

Just watch Silent Hill on fast-forward, stop whenever something happens that looks interesting. You don't need the dialogue.

The only blurb on the back of the Silent Hill DVD? I'm friends with that guy.
