I live on N. GAYsted, a few blocks from Wrigley. I moved here a few months ago, but just started posting.

It's just a really old building with shite insulation, and the snow was so heavy that when I woke up, freezing under three blankets, I found a nice half inch of snow on my bookshelf

Oh. I just saw a HUGE roach in my bathroom. I'm talking about New Orleans proportions. Nothing I've ever seen in Chicago. In fact, that's the first roach I have ever seen in Chicago. He was probably in my luggage.

My students looked so bored today that I started talking about something totally nonsensical to see if they were even listening. I started talking about what I was thinking of having for lunch.

And I had planned something "fun" for them to do today too -- I set up an online forum and they were supposed to post to the threads I started about the cult of celebrity and 15 min. etc. I put a picture of Andy Warhol in my first post and then someone referred to him as "Warnot" and three people laughed at the picture.
