then probably Kesha or J Lopez. a bad year for no 1s for sure.

i say this every year but i do think this list is possibly the most wretched in the history of the charts

Can't we have a 'damn kids, get off my lawn' option, because I'm not really feeling any of these?

yup cher lloyd def made the best music this year out of anyone on this list. i can never decide which my actual favourite is though! maybe "superhero"?
― degas-dirty monet (lex pretend), Sunday, 1 January 2012 16:40 (twelve years ago) link
"swagger jagger" is just no though.
Question: if Olly's had two #1's this year, why does it still look like his career is on the skids?

I knew you'd never speak to me again if I voted for "We Found Socks In A Hopeless Place"
― Kurun a Spern (Fotherington Thomas), Sunday, 1 January 2012 16:50 (twelve years ago) link
i spoke to someone recently who thought the lyric was "we found love in a homeless place" :(

I had no idea Loca People got to no.1.
We R Who We R, though.

I went for We Found Love which is probably the only song on the list I love.
Agree with the comments about Cher Lloyd, really like her and the album is great but Swagger Jagger is just one awful single.

the first quarter of this list is pretty decent -- after that it goes off the rails fucking fast

Loka People, along with Avicii's "Levels", Afrojack's "Take Over Control" and Sidney Samson's "Dynamite", are all songs I've heard three times in one night (the same night!) at the local high-street girls-in-stilettos club. My cousins who are really into this stuff along with Swedish House Mafia etc think of the Ministry Of Sound as their Now! compilation equivalent and these tracks are absolutely massive in that scene. I think of Loka People as the equivalent of a 90s holiday novelty song now in the sense it was "brought back" from their Magaluf/Ibiza holidays. I do like the "Johnny my fanta tastes like cola wtf" bit though.
There is so much shit on this list though. Jessie J, if it isn't about the "money money money" why do you need to charge charge charge you hypocritical knob? Rihanna or Ke$ha I guess.

LOVE "on the floor" and "give me everything"somewhat enjoy "glad you came", "swagger jagger", "we found love", "what makes you beautiful" and "changed the way you kiss me"
