i'm picturing an Armageddon-type scenario where a ragtag team of average joes gets shot into space in a desperate last ditch attempt to save The Simpsons' 27th season

i really don't believe anyone proposing some kind of 'experimental' direction for the simpsons would actually watch and enjoy episodes like that if they were actually done

why not? i mean i havent seen a new episode in at least a year probs more but if i heard it got interesting id def watch it again

I really think the Simpsons audience is under 21s who dont really know any better, like the same way we watched Cheers or Married With Children into their dire last seasons

did Cheers really fall off that much? i haven't seen enough reruns in way too long to remember, but i always had the sense it at least had about as good an 11th season as any show that got that far

You should try Regular Show which has been reasonably good lately and was really on when it first started.
There's a few good shows on tv now that basically are animation with live action actors: workaholics, sunny, modern family. single camera modern gonzo comedy sans laugh tracks might just as well be cartoons in my mind

some dude, can do me a solid and rank these 12 shows from "just dogshit terrible" to "you should basically kill yourself if you watched more than one episode of this"

--acknowledging racisim exists = a joke
• "yeah, in my dookchute maybe" [long blank stares signifying discomfort]
--he TOTALLY WENT THERE and it was SO OUT OF CHARACTER

ive only seen three episodes of archer but most of it seemed p rooted in like sketch comedy caricatures where they just keep exaggerating the characters worst quality for jokes? i mean i guess that ends up being the sorta OH I JUST WENT THERE stuff but like i think the characters are the jokes

a season long simpsons arc that had none of the 4 family members (maggie is still aiight in my book) would be the best thing ever imo. (if it had decent writers, none of the people currently involved in the simpsons and didn't suck.) have smithers uncover shady dealings at the plant, try to get wiggum and quimby involved, some funny stuff involving lenny and carl, as it all comes to a head, burns suddenly has a heart attack/maggie shoots him, turns out disco stu was walter white all along etc.

btw - david cross has been in archer. and pretty much everything else (heard him on aqua teen hunger force the other night). i wouldn't exactly call him the model of comedy integrity.

i dunno if there is anyone i'd call the model of comedy integrity. louie ck maybe, if you go for that sort of thing.

I do think that Adult Swim got oversaturated with extremely mediocre adult cartoons with retarded bizarre concepts over the last 5 years, but that's as obvious a point as saying 13 year old kids like pictures of boobs.
