Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:47 (twelve years ago) link

brian depalma/jon woo/jj abrams/brad bird is such a weird team of directors to have this franchised passeda round among

some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:48 (twelve years ago) link

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:49 (twelve years ago) link

things tom cruise has taught me

big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:49 (twelve years ago) link

i love how they get a new superstar dude for each installment xp

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:50 (twelve years ago) link

maybe if their iphones crashed or they held it the wrong way and lost reception at a crucial point idk

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:50 (twelve years ago) link

everything is v high end in these films

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:50 (twelve years ago) link

they had some reception problems iirc

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:50 (twelve years ago) link

wondering how james bond & Q will respond, maybe they will use android phones

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:51 (twelve years ago) link

they should fn hacks

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:51 (twelve years ago) link

I was feelin p nervous at the end cuz none of the iphones had protective cases I mean come on your iphone is probably gonna get scratched up next time you roundhouse some terrorist in the face

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:52 (twelve years ago) link

at least put some bumpers on it, maybe an incase

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:52 (twelve years ago) link

its ok they have access to infinite iphones

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:54 (twelve years ago) link

also can simon pegg go away

he can go play with his new apple products off screen somewhere

big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:55 (twelve years ago) link

you don't get to become an IMF agent by acting like you have infinite iphones, though

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:55 (twelve years ago) link

I thought simon pegg was okay in this but I dunno if he ever transcended the LOL BRITISHES category

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:56 (twelve years ago) link

its cool they have an app to make sure what u read on the internets is spoiler-free if you haven't seen a film yet

big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:58 (twelve years ago) link

yeah I think maybe getting brad bird to direct this was a mistake, he's still too pixar-fied

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:58 (twelve years ago) link

simon peggs whole comedy relief role was so dumb and hackish, like he doesnt bother me but his part was garbage

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:58 (twelve years ago) link

it also turned jeremy renner from a motherfucker w/ some dark secrets into a big huggable teddy bear

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:58 (twelve years ago) link

"I would do a mission with you anytime, man" *clasps hands* *hugs* *tears*

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 15:59 (twelve years ago) link

this movie gave me vertigo though, srs

big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 15:59 (twelve years ago) link

lol that final scene in seattle was so weak

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 16:00 (twelve years ago) link

reminded me of the end of lord of the rings

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 16:00 (twelve years ago) link

one iphone to rule them all

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:00 (twelve years ago) link

i haven't seen mi3 is it worth it and will it tell me what electronics i need to buy

big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 16:01 (twelve years ago) link

yah but the recommendations are pretty outdated by now, 5 years later, I suggest you get an iphone

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:01 (twelve years ago) link

wait did they not do a pop update of the MI theme for this movie? first 3 movies had the U2 rhythm section, Limp Bizkit and Kanye West, the mind reels at who they could've done it in 2011

some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:03 (twelve years ago) link

i think the technology most publicized in the MI3 promotional cycle was Yung Joc ringtones

some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:04 (twelve years ago) link

mi3 is p good, a lil too much torture for my tastes, but overall not bad

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 16:04 (twelve years ago) link

focus group feedback: 'a little less torture, a little more hot babes, tnx'

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:05 (twelve years ago) link

'more Yung Joc ringtones'

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:05 (twelve years ago) link

yah its like this one was an overreaction to the last one

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 16:05 (twelve years ago) link

yung joc ringtones for my iphone is never outdated

big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 16:06 (twelve years ago) link

2006 was the year of everybody watching gratuitous depictions of torture: MI3, Casino Royale and the highest-rated season of 24

some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:07 (twelve years ago) link

and also Tom Cruise doing the "It's Goin' Down" motorcycle dance

some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:07 (twelve years ago) link

I don't think he rode a motorcycle in this one

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:08 (twelve years ago) link

he ran fast a lot though

often after jumping off buildings, being hit w/ explosions, being hit by cars - he has dedication to sprints

big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 16:09 (twelve years ago) link

ran down a building at one point too

it literally breaks my heart that tom cruise telling kanye west "i'll see you in harlem, brother!" is no longer on youtube

some dude (Mr. Stevenson #2), Friday, 30 December 2011 16:20 (twelve years ago) link

Saw this yesterday...decent fluff, but too long and the sitting around with iphones at the end made me wanna scream. re the spoiler at the end, I was hoping that Cruise was trying to make Renner feel better with a total lie, but I guess that wasn't the case.

William (C), Friday, 30 December 2011 17:35 (twelve years ago) link

haha "she's actually alive" *cut to shot of badly decomposed body in 55 gallon drum* *tom cruise gives a hollow grin*

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Friday, 30 December 2011 17:36 (twelve years ago) link

wouldve been cool if while she was waving to him from the cafe he assassinated her then tore off his mask to reveal he was the hot french chick

Cooper Chucklebutt, Friday, 30 December 2011 17:36 (twelve years ago) link

haha "she's actually alive" *cut to shot of badly decomposed body in 55 gallon drum* *tom cruise gives a hollow grin*

hell yes, that would have been a movie with a little hair on its balls

big popppa hoy, Friday, 30 December 2011 21:39 (twelve years ago) link

my fav iphone scene was the final one when theyre all sitting around the table basking in the glow of success and he passes out iphones for the new mission but it seems more like hes giving them a bonus gift 'aaand YOU ALLL GET IPHONES'

looool it took me literally until they "accepted" to realize he wasn't gifting them

anyway fun stunt movie, i haven't seen the other ones in yrs but i don't recall the brian diploma one being so bombastic and the only thing that happened in the john woo one was tom jumping off a motorcycle, so this was just brad bird having fun with all that apple/bmw money right

a collection of gruff, big-balled boasts (zachylon), Sunday, 1 January 2012 19:06 (twelve years ago) link

ugh, this movie bit. i mean, normally i love simon pegg, but jesus, the geeky sidekick schtick was just groanworthy. also, what, cruise can take out 3 armed, burly, bearded russian gangsters in 1.4 seconds with his bare hands, but can't beat a 50 year old finnish college professor in fisticuffs over the course of like 10 minutes? just take out your gun and shoot him already!

also, do you think apple gave them any money to put some iphones in this movie?

messiahwannabe, Monday, 2 January 2012 13:37 (twelve years ago) link

Still smdh that they killed off Sawyer at the beginning of this movie.

Nicole, Monday, 2 January 2012 17:36 (twelve years ago) link

agree, sawyer should be in more stuff
