honestly the only reason i'm watching this game is because i really thought they could pull off a whiteout
I believe in Gordon Hayward

Coke was really really good tonight. Better than Bron and Wade in the 4th
What's a little disturbing is that the Heat again had trouble with the zone, and that Bron again lost a lot of aggressivenessin the 4th. Still, Heat look like a juggernaut.
― Daniel, Esq., Wednesday, 28 December 2011 05:45 (twelve years ago) link
Wiat you're saying the team with two of the top 5 guys in the league is a juggernaut?
― clay, Wednesday, 28 December 2011 06:05 (twelve years ago) link
hes saying something abt the heat iirc
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Wednesday, 28 December 2011 06:06 (twelve years ago) link
went to see Portland vs Sacto tonight. Other than being blinded by Jimmer not much to report. Kings gave up about as totally and completely as I've ever seen a team in the second half. They flat quit.
― clay, Wednesday, 28 December 2011 06:07 (twelve years ago) link
Yes I like the Heat's gumption. They're plucky!
I think they're going places.

they got spunk

Hoopdata Joe Treutlein Interesting to see Heat with awesome 89% DReb Rate despite pace and small frontline. Big edge for them playing small compared to other tms9 hours ago

good to see the Bucks are going back to their vintage strategy of playing a team of slow white guys that commit like 20 fouls a game. Andrew Bogut, Ersan Ilyasova, Mike Dunleavy, Jon Brockman, Jon Leuer... it's such a dream

Tyson Chandler — the anchor of the Mavericks championship defense who left for New York because they only offered him a one-year contract to stay — is not surprised at the slow start. He told the New York Post he saw it coming when he and other veteran free agents only got one-year deals.“Honestly, I kind of saw it coming because when you put a team in a situation where you say, ‘You’re the defending champions, but we’re not necessarily trying to repeat,’ and when I say that, I’m not saying that they don’t have the pieces there, I obviously think very highly of those guys, but I say that because they offered everybody one-year deals,” he said.“So they knew nobody was going to necessarily accept that. … And when you have veteran guys in the locker room, the type of guys they got, in this time of their career, it’s tough to face that.”

if cole's still tearing it up in 30 games, he'll have more cred. it's more likely that other teams haven't got much scouting on him, yet.

he'll have bumps and a learning curve. but the key is: cole is very good. blindingly fast and fearless, which are things you often can't teach.

My feelings on Norris Cole
OOH: Dude got a ton of wide-open looks because the focus was not on him (bigger offensive fish to fry, celts short defensively, cole still an unknown quantity, etc.)
OTOH: He's yet another offensive weapon on what already seemed like the scariest offense in NBA.

kinda feel like Daniel should have his own thread where he talks bt how diff heat players have the chance to be much better than everyone assumes while the rest of us talk abt basketball on this thread
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Wednesday, 28 December 2011 19:47 (twelve years ago) link
i think the chances that he's very good for a 28th overall pick and fifth scoring option are pretty decent
lol. sorry if i'm monopolizing.

Basically. I was impressed with his sheer ballsiness though -- rookie who comes out swinging so hard on a team like that.

well of course -- there's like 12 "very good" players in the entire nba
i mean al horford made an all star team last year

it's not that your monopolizing Daniel it's just that most of yr posts are all 'I like what dalembier brings' - the nba is srsy more ingesting than whatever incosiquential nba player the heat have rotting on the bench - like might want to hold off getting to amped abt eddy curry until he plays a minute
