352. violent food sickness

i was at roberto's, asked for a chicken taco. i got a chicken taco, except there was hardly any boiled chicken in it. and next to the taco, inside the wrapper, in a little pocket of lettuce and cheese that had fallen out of the taco shell, was a great big ... fried ... thing. it looked a little bit like a big fried squid. which was weird, because they don't make fried squid at this taco shop, just fried fish tacos, which isn't what i had ordered.

so anyway, i was like, "whatever, compliments of the chef" and popped it into my mouth. it was ok, a bit chewy. figured it was a piece of chicken skin or something that had fallen into the fryer with the taco shell and ended up in my food.

well, like i said, now i am violently ill. was it FRIED RAT???

fun fact for east coasters

now there is a cart in south park serving "mexican hot dog" until 2 am. i think they are just WRAPPED in bacon, and not prepared in AUTHENTIC TIJUANA STYLE

authentic tijuana style

1. put hot dog on stick
2. dip hot dog in lard
3. roll hot dog in BACOS
4. deep-fry

OK this is not actually authentic tijuana style but i did actually see a dude w/ a cart in tijuana doing this

i bought the new hold steady cd when tower went belly-up and thought about cracking it open for a listen, but i hated the other ones so much i figured i should just trade it in at amoeba instead. i made a small profit, i guess.
