Possibly. Maybe McGahee or Gore.

now that i think about it, CPOY should be warren sapp. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him dominate brian waters like he did on saturday. maybe waters is just more washed up than him, but i find that hard to believe.

T.O. for comeback player of the year!

Well, not Gore. Kinda hard to comeback in your second year. Never mind.

xpost, that's just spitting in the wind.

Young's had a good rookie year. But the real story for Tennessee has been the defense. They've won a few games on their own and have kept the scores close enough so that Young can do his thing. I like how Norm Chow and Fisher have tailored the offense to suit Young's skills. Seeing how Tennessee started with five losses and the way they've recovered I think Fisher ought to be in the running for COY.

How about Norm Chow to Atlanta for head coach? Now that might be a good fit.

Ice Ice Cream Baby (The Dirty Vicar), Thursday, 28 December 2006 01:11 (seventeen years ago) link

Vince Young is definitely the straw that stirs the Titans drink, as once he got in the the lineup, their offense could control the ball which led to their defense improving as they were not having to play 3/4 of a game. I think Travis Henry deserves something, as that dude has played great for Tennessee.

Payton is coach of the year. Anyone that wins with the Saints should be coach of the year, let alone all that went down last year. Criminy, the dude deserves some serious points for just how he skunked Parcells in Dallas with a few calls coming up right. NO's general manager Loomis deserves some serious props, as that guy made a few calls in both the draft and free agency which look sweet. Colston looks to be the steal of the draft.

Linebacker AJ Hawk has also had a good rookie year for the Packers. I've been impressed by what I have seen from him.

Before I totally forget:

Sometime last week, I woke up (in the PM) to Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio trying to justify Matt Millen's continued employment. His defense: a large number of the guys that MM drafted are starting for the Lions, so, hey, he must be doing something right.

David RER (Frank Fiore), Thursday, 28 December 2006 14:44 (seventeen years ago) link

DPOY should go to devin hester since there's no STROY to give him.
alternatively the bears can win the super bowl and give him the MVP like the packers in 1996.

TOM. BOT. (trm), Thursday, 28 December 2006 14:48 (seventeen years ago) link

I mean seriously the packers won the super bowl that year guys and gave the mvp to their punt returner, have you heard about this? also brett favre once had an opiate problem.

TOM. BOT. (trm), Thursday, 28 December 2006 14:49 (seventeen years ago) link

Sometimes ESPN says the dumbest things. Millen may survive another year. He's like the cockroach of general managers.

Ice Ice Cream Baby (The Dirty Vicar), Thursday, 28 December 2006 16:50 (seventeen years ago) link

Alternatively the Bears can just fuck the hell right off.

“The worst offenders are the defensive line. And Gibril Wilson is the ringleader of the group. They’re taking out the girls, bringing them to parties and making them skip work. [They have] been practically living at the club and picking the girls off a lot more than they’ve been picking off passes. They’re here all the time and I’m sick of them. I hope they read this and get pisseed off and stop coming.”

Out There Story of the Day!!!
According to the asshats at profootballtalk so don’t believe a word:

The Krafts may let Belichick go because he allegedly had an affair with a married woman from New Jersey. WTF. I now have a mental image burned into my brain of Belichick sexing-up wearing nothing but his sweatshirt. Ewwwwww!!! Please dear God make it stop!!!!!

that story is is months fucking old, and it's not the first one that's gone around. that's why bb earned the "hooded cassanova" nickname at cstb. i don't think the krafts would let him go for any sort of zipper problems unless he drifts into dave meggett territory.

There are more people in my office today than yesterday. Someone had the shits this morning, & is working from home. WTF is wrong w/ people?

David RER (Frank Fiore), Friday, 29 December 2006 16:11 (seventeen years ago) link

My coworker missed his bus this morning, offered to work from home (keep in mind that he is on the road most of the time, so he is specifically set up to work remotely 80% of the time and it wouldn't be unusual), was told he HAD to come in by our boss (despite fact that we have received very few inquiries or responses this week due to holiday and we're only working a half day today), so he drove in. Goes and parks in our parking garage (ie the private one in our building, that our company owns, that only company employees can park in) AND THEY CHARGED HIM $10 FOR THE PRIVLEDGE. WTF?

Allyzay heard you got beat up in a club. (Allyzay Eisenschefter), Friday, 29 December 2006 16:13 (seventeen years ago) link

For comparison's sake, there are multiple public garages surrounding our building, all of which have $5 "early bird specials" that cover parking from like anytime before 8:30 until 5 or 6pm, so he's paying double price to park IN HIS OWN COMPANY'S LOT. Who has ever heard of this?

I'm so happy I take the train. DO NOT PARK

NFL miracle = we leave at 3pm today. Magnum of red wine, goodbye.

clevo lk (clevo lk), Friday, 29 December 2006 16:21 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh yeah, obviously take public transit if you can, coworker in question wouldn't have been driving if not for fact he was ordered to come in for no good reason.

Ha - I was asked if I'd be around this weekend in case shit goes down because THE BUSINESS will be working on year-end reporting, & I might have to be around to bitch @ in case the reporting portal poops its Pampers. Good thing I'm a loser!

CANKLES TAKE ME AWAY

David RER (Frank Fiore), Friday, 29 December 2006 16:36 (seventeen years ago) link

$10 is highway robbery to park, but $5 is actually pretty reasonable (cheaper than where I work).

Getting out early means I can watch the SUN BOWL. Vern Lundquist, hang on, I'm coming home.
