I love that truck-trailer-looking one!

Tehresa, the house-in-a-box one is made out of insulated panels, plus it's so small—heating it would be cheap.

The Panels

Through the efficient combination of urethane insulation with pre painted galvanized steel sheets, house in a box's light weight composite building panel is produced. with an Insulation rating of an R24, and a 20 year exterior painted finish.

It's a METAL house! Like a Lustron house.

A friend of mine lives in one of those in Bloomington, Indiana. She loves it. The army used to give them away. She thinks they still might—I don't know.

Lustron houses never needed painting, and could be cleaned with a hose

neat!

No House in a Box price list, no credibility.

When you click on "contact" there's a place where you choose a budget. 35,000-55,000 being the cheapest choice. Not bad for a whole damn house with a toilet and everything.

A friend of mine who I've never met lives in a Sears house. She still has the instruction book for it, too. I WANT ONE!

Whatever happened to those "House of the Future"s you used to hear so much about?

Naturally, they are of the past now.

But what happened to them?

I remember a big fuss around Phillipe Stark's house in a box. It was just a box with plans in it and a hammer. he did build at least one and it looked very nice - kinda log cabin style.
