wait whats your second favorite sport

of course baseball is number one but i fucking love football both NCAA and the NFL.

Bee, Thursday, 22 December 2011 06:14 (twelve years ago) link

basketball is the best sport, get hip to it

Cooper Chucklebutt, Thursday, 22 December 2011 06:16 (twelve years ago) link

Bee, Thursday, 22 December 2011 06:17 (twelve years ago) link

That was pretty kewl and all but I don't want to get overexcited about Clippers beating a Kobe-less decline-era Lakers

Hurting, Thursday, 22 December 2011 06:18 (twelve years ago) link

in a preseason game

Hurting, Thursday, 22 December 2011 06:18 (twelve years ago) link

So far I can't see any quantum leap compared to the clippers at the end of last season. They still haven't integrated Chris Paul into the offense and the team needs to settle and play a while before they show any real improvement.

Aimless, Thursday, 22 December 2011 06:55 (twelve years ago) link

well they will certainly make a quantum leap into the playoffs

v-shasty, Thursday, 22 December 2011 06:57 (twelve years ago) link

I suspect you are right. They've got many good pieces to play with.

Aimless, Thursday, 22 December 2011 07:01 (twelve years ago) link

this is part of my problem with the NBA. they have been having sub .500 teams in the playoffs lately. (6)Golden State did beat (1)Dallas a few years back IIRC and that was exciting until the next round.

no doubt it is a good sport but is massively overrated. Lakers are overly hyped so the sport is magnified. another reason is LA doesn't have the NFL and well USC is just not enough.

Bee, Thursday, 22 December 2011 07:29 (twelve years ago) link

it's too bad basketball is so overrated :(

clay, Thursday, 22 December 2011 07:38 (twelve years ago) link

have you seen that crazy thing they play at the asian games that's like volleyball only you use your feet? That shit's underrated

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 22 December 2011 08:05 (twelve years ago) link

remember last year when a sub .500 team beat the reigning champions in the first round of the playoffs and then got blown out in round two?

Oh wait that was the NFL's Seattle Seahawks.

clay, Thursday, 22 December 2011 08:08 (twelve years ago) link

IDK it's hard to say from an exhibition game after an extra long break. Lakers still had a pretty solid defense out there and Clips managed to shred it more or less at the key moments. Jordan looks improved considerably imo, and even BG is looking like he benefits from experience -- he was making some really smart plays I thought, doing a lot to open shots for other people, varying his game, etc. CP3 wasn't a dazzling addition overall but integration issues are something they'll work out. Plus I thought it seemed like Mo Williams was playing much harder and better. The 3-shooting was looking pretty good too overall. Thought I was def seeing a playoff team, maybe even a second round team depending on how it goes, although it would be nice if they had a full season to jell.

Guess I am sort of contradicting earlier post, or at least spinning differently. hurtingflipflops.com

Hurting, Thursday, 22 December 2011 13:23 (twelve years ago) link

scariest thing for the clippers is their coach imo

Aimless, Thursday, 22 December 2011 18:51 (twelve years ago) link

i would buy season-tickets to the LAC's games if they'd sign victoria jackson as their coach.

she could pace the sidelines with her ukelele, singing about radical islam (and three-second violations).

Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 22 December 2011 18:51 (twelve years ago) link

yeah yall league passers are gonna enjoy a lot of terrible and hilarious free throw by deandre this year, and until the playoffs its actually part of his charm
