Dan Orlovsky!

Guys, Dan Orlovsky is executing a pretty successful 2 minute drive, here.

mixed emotions in Indianapolis right now
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:18 (twelve years ago) link
it truly is a cruel twist of fate that the Texans finally make the playoffs and have to do it with Yates. granted he's done pretty well tonight but it's a far cry from having Schaub or even Leinart.

this game has been kinda nuts
― j crunchwrap supreme, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:19 (twelve years ago) link
It'd be pretty nuts to have a Super Bowl between the Saints (who lost to the Rams) and the Texans (who may lose to the Colts), also.
― C-L, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:20 (twelve years ago) link
ive been saying all night that indy will win this
― j crunchwrap supreme, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:20 (twelve years ago) link
orlovsky is infuriating if ur rooting 4 him -- so many passes either tipped or just wildly overthrown/thrown away
― j crunchwrap supreme, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:22 (twelve years ago) link
Oh man the Texans are just killing themselves right now.
― C-L, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:22 (twelve years ago) link

Manning isn't hurt, he just pretended to be all year so he'll win at least 2 more MVP trophies when he comes back
― if you ain't gonna wash it, i ain't gonna eat it, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:24 (twelve years ago) link
I still LOL when thinking of the time on the Lions when, backed up deep in their own territory, Orlovsky dropped back to pass, and ran out of the end zone and completely didn't realize it.

would stl take luck with the 1st pick? would minny?
― j crunchwrap supreme, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:26 (twelve years ago) link
The Rams would be in a pretty awkward position if they had the #1 pick too, really. They could probably get someone to trade a whole bunch of stuff for Luck, though.

It looks like the draft order for teams with similar win totals goes to strength of schedule, then Division tiebreakers (the same as to determine which team wins a division, apparently), Conference tiebreakers (same), and then a coin flip.
I would guess Colts have the weaker schedule from quick glance (Vikings played the Packers twice, Detroit twice, the NFC South has two good teams and the AFC West is blandly OK; Rams play SF twice, Saints, Packers, Ravens, and Steelers), but I dunno.
― C-L, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:38 (twelve years ago) link
Hahaha xp
― C-L, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:39 (twelve years ago) link
vikings have the strength of schedule disadvantage, but they can conceivably have that turn around in the next two weeks.
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:39 (twelve years ago) link
also, the colts are playing blaine gabbert next week.

guys, plz to explain why the colts just (potentially) walked away from the andrew luck/first pick trade motherlode sweepstakes.
danny o. should've kneeled on the one after that p.i. call.
― Mr. Snrub, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:46 (twelve years ago) link
Colts get the #1 pick, trade up to the heavens for the ability to restore Peyton Manning to permanent glory in exchange for the rights to Andrew Luck plus Austin Collie's soul (he is from BYU so it is prob pure), naming rights to Lucas Oil Stadium, and a 2013 3rd Rounder.
― C-L, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:47 (twelve years ago) link
danny o has triplets imminent! hes goin all out
― j crunchwrap supreme, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:47 (twelve years ago) link
tbf I think Danny O doesn't give a shit about the Andrew Luck sweepstakes (nor should he), and it probably isn't in the interests of most of the other players if the Colts end up getting their QB for the next decade. They'll remember this season, and this game, well after they're out of football, until the chronic traumatic encephalopathy wipes it away.
― C-L, Friday, 23 December 2011 04:50 (twelve years ago) link
well look at that, they don't want luck that bad after all.

Houston fans have to hate playing Indy. They have beaten the tar out of them quite a few times like tonight where they grab defeat out of the jaws of victory.
The worst one had to be that one a couple years back when Sage Rosenfelds pretty much worked with Peyton Manning to blow a 2 TD lead with like not much time at all on the clock.
― earlnash, Friday, 23 December 2011 07:46 (twelve years ago) link
Indy would be at least a .500 club with Manning. Their defense is total shite again, but they lost a bunch of games where even if Orlovsky would have been the starter they would have perhaps won. I think he is actually somewhat competant.

Oh yes...that was one to remember.
Dumb and weird thing was other than blowing the game, Rosenfeld was actually kind of effective as their Qb when he played for them that year. (Their defense turned to mush both of the last two seasons in the second half from injuries if I remember right.)
― earlnash, Friday, 23 December 2011 07:55 (twelve years ago) link
yeah as mindboggling as rosencopter was, most Texans fans remember Sage fondly and think he didn't really get a fair shake.
― Matt Armstrong, Friday, 23 December 2011 07:56 (twelve years ago) link
Memo...unless you are John Elway, don't try to play like you are John Elway, even though it looks cool.
― earlnash, Friday, 23 December 2011 07:57 (twelve years ago) link
You got to have at least a servicable NFL name...Sage Rosenfels sounds like an agent (no offense intended).
If your name is Billy Joe Tolliver or Cortez Kennedy, you at least sound like you might be an NFL player.
