whoa, i lived just around the corner from archie's for a year and i really liked it. it always struck me as an archetypal chicago corner bar--it's been around for like 50 years, everyone there is super friendly, they have an old hamm's sign ("from the land of sky blue waters"), and they have homemade cheese puffs for bar snacks. one of the bartenders would always say hi to me when i saw her around the neighborhood. i never got to any of the queer nights there, though. really sucks to hear about this.

I had not heard of this group or about the incident at Archie's. Corey lives very near there.

I will be in NYC from the 30th to the 4th! how exciting!

The boy and I are (probably) going to be in NYC from January 2 until the 6th or 7th, but I'm still trying to figure out reasonable accommodations etc. before buying bus tickets.

I'd totally be down for a FAP, but I'm not sure how skittish JF will decide to be. He can be a bit shy.
