well, OF COURSE the giants' problem isn't any one of their players (though eli is kind of a bust, admit it) and it is really coughlin -- i mean, the reason why mangini is getting so much love is because he has a team that, on paper, is not as talented as the giants -- yet it's the jets and not the giants who are doing well.
popshots: i heart LC and yes, while he isn't an elite receiver he is still much much better than NFL most receivers. i was more harsh on laveranues than i really intended to be -- i really meant to say that he and pennington are the only two offensive standouts (no disrespect to cotchery, either), and they are really kinda symbiotic wr2 the jets' offense (washington's great game vs. miami notwithstanding, neither he nor kevan barlow are making anyone forget that the jets have no running game w/t curtis martin).

Kevin Barlow is a choad (& not just because he singlehandedly helped torpedo my ILNFL team). It's all about LEON:

5. Indianapolis Colts (11-4)
OK, they might be futzing around at this point in the season, losing to the Texans and everything, but Ron Dayne, who has yet to make a cut, gaining 153 against them? C'mon now. I mean granted, he's 300 pounds and only two feet tall, but getting mushed by an O-line that's responsible for only the 24th ranked rushing offense? Don't spread this around, but I don't think Indy is very good against the run.
6. New Orleans Saints (10-5)
They came into Giants Stadium and offered the game to the home team. "Here, you want it?" They proved it by dropping 10 passes. The Giants said no thank you, it would just confuse our fans. So the Saints walked away with the 30-7 win, and here's my favorite stat, the likes of which I have never seen before: New Orleans ran 54 plays in Giants' territory. And how many plays did New York run on the Saints' side? Zero.

lolol you used to be hella like "LMBO @ PENNINGTON HE SUX >:O!!!!!!" that is an exact quote. payton for COTY tho, yeah. Mangini should be in the convo (I TOLD YALL THE JETS WOULD BE GOOD) along with Jeff Fisher, tho i sorta wonder why COTY always goes to a guy whose team sucked for the first quarter of the season and then turned it around. how about giving it to someone whose team has been good all along? also who do you guys think should be gettin' sum awardz:
MVP: LDT & Brees should split it imoOROY: Marcus McNeillDROY: I dunno, Demeco Ryans? I haven't seen any Texans games so I dunno if he is actually any good~DPOY: Jason Taylor duhrrrrOPOY: uh god i dunno, peyton manning or something. i think you could mb make a better case for him as MVP than the last couple years, just because his team is suddenly so much worse

in theory I admire the Jets and wish them well, but they are so, so boring to watch. I fell asleep during the first quarter of their Monday night game with Miami.

Your choices are all correct except I would also pick LDT for OPOY and I wouldn't even think about Brees for MVP. I mean he's been good and everything but come on, this is just sentimental pish-posh.

i think breezy is pretty deserving, though the last coupla saints games have been a little underwhelming. he's a solid number 2 behind ladainian, if nothing else.

1. LDT2. They're saying "Mooooooovers"3. Brees4. LJ5. Frank Gore

So, reality check. All else being equal, I'd still have to go with Young. Dude's been winning games on his lonesome.

How about Norm Chow to Atlanta for head coach? Now that might be a good fit.

Payton is coach of the year. Anyone that wins with the Saints should be coach of the year, let alone all that went down last year. Criminy, the dude deserves some serious points for just how he skunked Parcells in Dallas with a few calls coming up right. NO's general manager Loomis deserves some serious props, as that guy made a few calls in both the draft and free agency which look sweet. Colston looks to be the steal of the draft.
Linebacker AJ Hawk has also had a good rookie year for the Packers. I've been impressed by what I have seen from him.

Sometime last week, I woke up (in the PM) to Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio trying to justify Matt Millen's continued employment. His defense: a large number of the guys that MM drafted are starting for the Lions, so, hey, he must be doing something right.
