happy trails, peja stojakovic!

also also, baron can be flat-out awesome when he's engaged and having fun, but between the lockout and his back i cant see him being in decent shape in february. that said even fat baron was really fun playing with blake for a minute last year

predrag is retiring? aw!

Strangely enough, he started playing better after Sterling started openly berating him courtside.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 19 December 2011 23:16 (twelve years ago) link

god, i totally forgot about that

v-shasty, Monday, 19 December 2011 23:16 (twelve years ago) link

I would have taken Biyombo 2nd, btw. I'm all in BB.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 19 December 2011 23:19 (twelve years ago) link

other than it being totally tacky and inappropriate that was probably the only time sterling has ever been OTM

concussion section, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 00:56 (twelve years ago) link

peja's stats for 03-04:

81 games played. 48% FG, 43% 3P, 93% FT, 6 boards, 24.2 PPG

that is pretty insane for a jumpshooter

nice catch cuauhtemoc blanco niño (dayo), Tuesday, 20 December 2011 02:03 (twelve years ago) link

3rd place MVP that year iirc

Cooper Chucklebutt, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 02:06 (twelve years ago) link

it was, imho, the greatest shooting season anyone has ever had.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 02:06 (twelve years ago) link

what's the highest TS% hollinger has ever recorded?

^^ why the hall of fame is a total joke. Colangelo had to create a ABA separate committee to squeeze Artis in because the hall of fame committee was filled with idiots.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 02:13 (twelve years ago) link

true shooting percentage is kind of a joke unless you're using it right

k3vin k., Tuesday, 20 December 2011 03:07 (twelve years ago) link

wtf at sam dalembert not being signed a week before opening day!

maybe he goes back to the kings?

Daniel, Esq., Tuesday, 20 December 2011 03:17 (twelve years ago) link

spurs for the mini mle

nah jk, matt bonner is a legit starting C

nah jk we shd play kawhi leonard at C

q: are we not bel biv men? a: we are bel biv devo (m bison), Tuesday, 20 December 2011 03:25 (twelve years ago) link

i think dalembert made clear he wouldn't accept even the full mle.

Daniel, Esq., Tuesday, 20 December 2011 03:27 (twelve years ago) link

he was looking for 8 -- 10M a year, IIRC, and thought he could get it.

Daniel, Esq., Tuesday, 20 December 2011 03:27 (twelve years ago) link

lol too late, who even has room for that?

well it's better than PER, which can never be used right.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 03:54 (twelve years ago) link

well this game has already been awesome, couple of crazy kobe shots, some cp3 magic, monster deandre jordan dunk

xp gtfo

k3vin k., Tuesday, 20 December 2011 03:58 (twelve years ago) link

PER is total nonsense, an "efficiency" stat that rewards inefficiency.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 04:01 (twelve years ago) link

paul's defense has slipped a lot, blake has embarrassed him a couple times. Still an offensive genius though.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 04:03 (twelve years ago) link

mcroberts is a totally fun player, shame he both played for duke and now the lakers

k3vin k., Tuesday, 20 December 2011 04:05 (twelve years ago) link

I've always been a McRoberts stan

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 04:07 (twelve years ago) link

I feel like he's always taken too much shit because he disappointed at Duke

this is very much more of a theoretical concern than a real one, in any event look at the top 10 players in the league in PER and then the top 10 in TS%, which one better reflects a player's worth? obv it's not a perfect stat but there's not a better one i don't think, composite or otherwise

getting beat backdoor by steve blake is pretty embarrassing, but paul's still one of the best defensive 1s in the league, his advanced numbers were not great last year but he wasn't 100% obviously - it'll be interesting tho to see how he plays on d this year.

k3vin k., Tuesday, 20 December 2011 04:19 (twelve years ago) link

this morris kid has no idea what the hell he's doing out there

TS% is a stat that actually means something, PER is just a hodgepodge of garbage.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 04:40 (twelve years ago) link

a list of the top 3p% wouldn't be a list of the top players, but it at least means what it claims. PER means nothing.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 04:41 (twelve years ago) link

lmao @ cp3's little re-enactment of bynum's post move

<3

I seriously don't understand why Utah still has 47 power forwards.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 05:00 (twelve years ago) link

well one of them has to be the next karl malone right

clay, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 05:12 (twelve years ago) link

Favors went off tonight, should be the starter.

It just seems like millsap and jefferson are very tradeable, why not trade one of them now since Kanter and Favors are the future.

Matt Armstrong, Tuesday, 20 December 2011 05:20 (twelve years ago) link
