Brees is pretty much unreal. I think Rogers probably has the inroad on the MVP, but Bree's year and that NO offense is really sick. Thing is that between this year's GB & NO - it goes up with the colts and pats in a decade of totally pass happy crazy good offenses.

Considering how much Denver ran through the NE offense on the ground in the 1st quarter, I can't buy them as a real contender in the playoffs.

I'm glad it sounds like Johnny Knox is gonna be okay following a surgery. That slow-mo replay of him bending backwards at the waist will haunt me for a long time.

Crennel used The Gladiator to help get his team ready for this game. He'd seen it last weekend in the hotel, before the Chiefs played the Jets, and he took some Russell Crowe into the Saturday night team meeting with him. "I told the team that, like the gladiator, we were going to play a great team in Green Bay, and no matter what comes out of these gates, we've got to stay together,'' Crennel said. "We did that. I told them after the game, 'Everyone expected us to die with honor today. But we're not ready to die.' ''

haha yeah the pats D is genuinely terrible, its mysterious how theyve concocted such a good record

Cooper Chucklebutt, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:17 (twelve years ago) link

the packers are basically doing the same thing right now

v-shasty, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:18 (twelve years ago) link

troo

lol did u get the sense that he was taking tebowmania a little personally

Cooper Chucklebutt, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:23 (twelve years ago) link

pack/pats superbowl would be so amazing, overtime tied at one million

Cooper Chucklebutt, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:27 (twelve years ago) link

there are lots of reasons why the pats should be a real contender in the playoffs but the 1st quarter of that game isn't one of them. first, who are they gonna meet that runs denver's offense, and second they figured that shit out in the 2nd quarter and ended up having their best game on defense maybe all season, however low a standard for comparison that might be.

horseshoe loves tom brady, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:30 (twelve years ago) link

why they shouldn't be a real contender. important typo.

I was stuck at a terrible gospel concert supporting one of my wife's outreach gigs and completely missed this game ;_;

OH NOES, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:33 (twelve years ago) link

it was the same as your gospel thing but with more jesus

horseshoe loves tom brady, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:34 (twelve years ago) link

feel like the afc is kinda wide open for the pats right now

v-shasty, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:35 (twelve years ago) link

that said they've obv sucked in the playoffs for a few years now

it's really too bad about matt schaub, i think the texans would be the most complete team in the afc if he was healthy

v-shasty, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:35 (twelve years ago) link

for pats to get to superbowl, somebody else gotta beat bmore

horseshoe loves tom brady, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:36 (twelve years ago) link

and yeah, feel for texans fo sho

horseshoe loves tom brady, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:36 (twelve years ago) link

well considering who the ravens have lost to, i don't think that's out of the question

v-shasty, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:36 (twelve years ago) link

eh theres no one that great in the afc this year so we will see

Cooper Chucklebutt, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:36 (twelve years ago) link

Jesus was too busy letting 80-year-old black women shout at him to bless Tebow yesterday

OH NOES, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:37 (twelve years ago) link

hell, the Texans might be the most complete team in the AFC even without Schaub

...or fold laundry? (J0n Arbuckle), Monday, 19 December 2011 15:38 (twelve years ago) link

honestly if the hot tub time machine hadn't gotten hurt i would feel like the texans could make the super bowl

v-shasty, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:39 (twelve years ago) link

but it ain't happening w/ tj yates

v-shasty, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:39 (twelve years ago) link

Lol at the media falling over themselves to say the loss wasn't all Tebow's fault. They didn't mind giving him the majority of the credit for things his team did when they were winning, but when they lose its a "team loss"

if you ain't gonna wash it, i ain't gonna eat it, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:40 (twelve years ago) link

whose fault was the 28-yard sack

OH NOES, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:41 (twelve years ago) link

obv i dont intend to talk up the pats defense because it blows but they went back to the 3-4 and changed their spacing after the first quarter and i think the broncos had 175 total yards in quarters 2-4. it was a good adjustment and there were some good individual performances.

cad, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:41 (twelve years ago) link

kinda glad a i watched the game in a poolhall w/the christmas soul satellite radio station playing instead of the tv audio tbh

Cooper Chucklebutt, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:42 (twelve years ago) link

it's 100% tebow's fault that brady prayed harder than him

iatee, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:42 (twelve years ago) link

also i had the revelation in this game that a lot of denvers success on offense is based on broken pass plays where tebow extends the play and improvises. his in-game instincts are pretty excellent.

best part of this was when he was only back like 15 yards he spun to his right considered throwing and then remembered he was incapable of throwing when spinning to his right and decided to lose another ten yards

how many times did you hear H-Town's "Knockin' Boots For Christmas"

zero, i was robbed

Cooper Chucklebutt, Monday, 19 December 2011 15:50 (twelve years ago) link

prob worth mentioning that despite anderson looking pretty good subbing in, andre carter likely out for the season makes the ne defense even more exciting

yeah outside of the whole "how do these miracles keep happening" angle I think there is a good argument to be made that Tebow is much better all-around now than he was 6 weeks ago. as bad of a passer as he is I think Denver's wideouts probably make him look worse than he actually is

...or fold laundry? (J0n Arbuckle), Monday, 19 December 2011 16:10 (twelve years ago) link

o come on

Cooper Chucklebutt, Monday, 19 December 2011 16:10 (twelve years ago) link

they are awful; its true

cad, Monday, 19 December 2011 16:11 (twelve years ago) link

i mean its pretty hard to say if he's actually better--to me it seems he continues to do a few things pretty well. he generally makes good reads on the option, he's an amazing runner, and he can hit dudes downfield when coverage breaks down.

cad, Monday, 19 December 2011 16:12 (twelve years ago) link

tebow had no control those first few games. no one could've caught his wayward passes. but i gotta say he does seem to be coming along pretty quickly

horseshoe loves tom brady, Monday, 19 December 2011 16:12 (twelve years ago) link

theres srsly nothing a receiver can do to make a wobbly ass pass that misses by ten yards any worse

Cooper Chucklebutt, Monday, 19 December 2011 16:12 (twelve years ago) link

can't believe ilx is falling for it

iatee, Monday, 19 December 2011 16:12 (twelve years ago) link

i mean why are we even talking abt this, hes the worst starting qb in the nfl by a wide margin and were all well he seems to be getting a lil better

you can probably only see it if you are a true believer, but on the left side of this picture of tebow, you can just make out jesus, dressed in white.
