More things from dad's vaults. This time it's a reel that he confiscated back when he was promoting a co-bill w/Big Mama Thornton and Harmonica George Smith. Starts with Big Mama doing "Ball and Chain" and "Hound Dog", then Harmonica George announcing his retirement (!) after this show and playing three insane instrumentals, then the two of them doing a medley of spirituals together.

So fucking good, I can't even begin to tell you.

Many xposts: I too love the doo wop. I need to listen to "I Want You to Be My Girl" by Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers before I fly back east. Maybe I'll just pack that CD.

i'm easy. probably something experimental, if i had to choose.

bohren un der club of gear (bohren un der club of gear), Saturday, 23 December 2006 18:17 (seventeen years ago) link

do you already have the scott walker album?

yes : D

bohren un der club of gear (bohren un der club of gear), Saturday, 23 December 2006 18:30 (seventeen years ago) link

hmmm, then i don't think you need anything else! unless you don't have the new harvey milk album. everyone needs that. but it's not experimental. just awesome.

scott seward (121212), Saturday, 23 December 2006 18:42 (seventeen years ago) link

actually maybe i should investigate the clean, yr thread has me interested. also interested in the transporter 2.

bohren un der club of gear (bohren un der club of gear), Saturday, 23 December 2006 18:44 (seventeen years ago) link

transporter 2 is awesome. get the clean comp. there must be one on cd.

i wish i could have the harvey milk album inplanted in my brain so that i heard that instead of people talking. i mean actual people. i don't generally hear people talking in my brain.

Speaking of last.fm, how do I delete stupid shit that my roommate listens to while I'm gone off my list? I used to know where to find the option, but now I can't. HALP!

Also, today is BIg Black/Today is the Day, listening-wise.

Never mind, apparently you can't delete artists now, just recent tracks. Looks like it's time to blank my profile and start over. LAME.
