yeah the deal coulda been worse for SC as far as financing goes, but there still is some taxpayer money being spent along the way and in the long-run stadiums just aren't worth it for small towns. all this trouble so a buncha people to drive in 8 days a year? it's ultimately bizarre town-pride vanity thing. and iirc there are ways for the niners to get out of that guarantee w/ a future ownership or when they decide to move back to sf in 10 years when nobody wants to drive 50 miles to see a football game anymore. whereas hunter's point redevelopment coulda led to great things for the area, is on transit etc. etc.

TBF, there's transit to the SC location, but yeah, overall the deal's a stinker.
Oh wait there's something else I want to mention:
ya I'm primarily a cal fan so it is v. convenient that a cal player will go down as the best qb of all time
Tim Tebow has something to say about that.

cell phone records show 6 calls back and forth between an "M. Morris" and subject A. Rodgers on the evening of 12/17

Hoping this is just "sometimes you play crappy and a bunch of dudes are injured" and not "Hey everybody we solved the Packers!" It felt more like the former, at least.

and that's the way it goes
anyway - two bright sides to this loss: one, if the 49ers lose tomorrow, the Pack get the no. 1 seed, so they can start resting guys because they really won't be playing for anything
two is that I was kinda terrified of having this team be remembered like the 2007 Patriots. maybe it's different because public opinion isn't completely against them like it was on the Pats, but I would hate it if the 2011 Packers were known as the undefeated regular season team that blew their last game
