i liked lots of wassup rockers. but seriously janice dickinson and the hollywood party were difficult to watch.

one of my best friends was clark's personal assistant on Another Day In Paradise

on another note, my coworker just told me that his wife just finished working on http://www.youregonnamissme.com/ the Roky Erickson documentary and is in plans to get it on DVD soon.

wow at doc box!!

Yeah, and only $200 USD before shipping. Worth it though, and Herzog would probably sanction bank robbery to fund its purchase.

werner was hilarious in julien donkey-boy

OTM, the scene where he tells his son he looks just like his dead mother, then browbeats him to put on one of her dresses and dance with him, that's cinema gold right thar.

Even Dwarves Started Small is mandatory.

Also OTM, although it's tested some friendships after I popped it in.

Herzog's Fata Morgana is also great. If you're not stoned it'll sure make you feel like you are.

"Because of the detachment in the direction the much-vaunted S&M sequences are restricted to a couple of scenes with Beacham either trussed up on the floor or strapped to her bed by Brando with rope. It says something about the film that these scenes are more exciting when read about about than actually witnessed."

I'll be the judge of that!

i've read accounts that were more in-depth so none of it was new, but the interviews w/ the survivors are pretty moving, even with knowing what happens at the end

I know i'm late on Stallone talk, but favorite non-Rocky Stallone movie here is Demolition Man, set in a future where "all restaurants are Taco Bell".

Happy Feet - if you can make it through the Moulin Rouge style pop mashups, it actually gets pretty good in the last half. Somebody should do a write-up on the post-colonial "happy savages, entertain us" subtext buried in its friendly "save the environment" theme, though. It's begging for it.

did you get that box set by the way? it is SUH-weet.

slate had a very weird article about PS and the box set... the article focused mostly on "miracle at morgan's creek" which isn't in the set!

a mediocre black-and-white cookie in a cellophane wrapper (hanks1ockli), Wednesday, 20 December 2006 15:57 (seventeen years ago) link

I assume that's a rights thing? It's available on its own anyway.

I suspect I'm getting the box for Christmas. I like The Sin of Harold Diddlebock better than 2 or 3 of the box's films, too.
