Also, tell the fear of God to relax, and make it a martini.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 15:25 (seventeen years ago) link

anyway, around addison some broad pushed passed me and called me an asshole. i'm pretty sure she was a dyke.

KEVIN YOU ARE A TREAT

I want to stay home today, too. But no.

Bodhisattva, let me take you by the hand (kenan), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 15:25 (seventeen years ago) link

i swear to god the first time i read that i thought you called me a teat. i had to check twice to make sure it wasn't jenny calling me names and that i hadn't really insulted her.

i should have worked a barelycorn's reference in there.

I've been spelling squeegee wrong. It's not "squeejee."

Metrosexual Healing (crunkleJ), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 15:29 (seventeen years ago) link

I braved driving to work today because I was worried I would go crazy insane if I spent another day in the apartment all day.

n/a (n/a), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 15:34 (seventeen years ago) link

OMG, kitten broke my headphones. She chewed through the wire! Am I going to have to kittenproof my whole setup somehow?

I would love to go crazy insane spending all day in the apartment.

JordanC (JordanC), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 15:49 (seventeen years ago) link

Kittens will do that. They will also scratch up your couch.

I want a kitten.

I think it was my trip home last night that made me all crazy (or at least extra crazy). I also woke up in the middle of the night and swore Pepper was dead. She was sleeping beside me, but I couldn't see her breathing. When I touched her she felt stiff and kind of cold and I totally freaked. I was about to wake up Nick when I pet her again and she started purring really loudly.

Calico (calico), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:08 (seventeen years ago) link

This was probably also a result of the dead cat in the movie we watched.

I'm bored. Talk to me.

Calico (calico), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:10 (seventeen years ago) link

I expect my kittens to be decorous and well-behaved.

JordanC (JordanC), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:12 (seventeen years ago) link

You can put honey on the lips, actually. It's hydrophillic.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:15 (seventeen years ago) link

i also didn't bring my honey to work today.

chicago kevin is back in a new york groove (chicago kevin), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:19 (seventeen years ago) link

you never bring me your honey

Bodhisattva, let me take you by the hand (kenan), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:19 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm having hot chocolate and an orange.

Man, that snow sure is coming down.

Calico (calico), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:20 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh well, I just said because sometimes office kitchens have honey? Or delis have it in little packets? Tho I guess if you were at a deli you could just buy some more Carmex.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:21 (seventeen years ago) link

Happy Valentine's Day. Kr said last week that V Day is totally not a big deal to her and she's not expecting roses and chocolates and all of that, but she did say "well maybe we can still do something nice," and I said "sure." And so I just thought that that meant that we'd go out after Lost and get dessert/wine somewhere. But now it turns out that she is making dinner for me, and then reserved us tickets to see a show at IO, and I didn't realize that she was going out of her way to do things FOR ME, instead of us just doing something mutually and spontaneously, and so now I'm feeling vaguely guilty, since I haven't done anything for her.

I suddenly got the fear of god in me that I drink alcohol too often and that Chicago has been a bad influence on me.

If you drink too often, then the rest of CHILX are incorrigible raging alcoholics.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:23 (seventeen years ago) link

kucinich.

Maybe you could remember it because squeegees are icons of NYC street life, and there was no better chronicler of NYC street life than...

You should probably get her some roses and chocolates and all of that.

Madd1e sent me this for a VD card.

I do not want a vd card, or anything related to vd at all.

Bodhisattva, let me take you by the hand (kenan), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:28 (seventeen years ago) link

John, You have all day to think of something. Or hey, what if you planned a surprise of some sort for her for some other day when she least expected it? Or you could offer to pay her back for the tickets...

Jordan, Is it ok that I found that hilarious?

Calico (calico), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:29 (seventeen years ago) link

It's ok, I found it pretty hilarious too.

Or you could offer to pay her back for the tickets...

I don't think this would work.

JordanC (JordanC), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:32 (seventeen years ago) link

Or hey, what if you planned a surprise of some sort for her for some other day when she least expected it?

I told her I'd make it up to her.

The tickets were $5 each. It would seem petty.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:33 (seventeen years ago) link

Anyway, I'll think of something. I don't want to turn this into a big old debate about what I should do.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:34 (seventeen years ago) link

then the rest of CHILX are incorrigible raging alcoholics
I have always had a pretty huge fear of getting addicted to something, especially due to extended family history. I was fiercely self-righteous growing up when it came to alot of things and it's taking me a very long time to calm the fuck down about them. So I apologize for coming off as a bitch sometimes.

Calico (calico), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:35 (seventeen years ago) link

gimme whatever.

Jordan - real rattlesnake??

What is IO, by the way?

Calico (calico), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:37 (seventeen years ago) link

formerly improv olympics.

until the international olympic organization threatened to sue them into oblivion.

chicago kevin is back in a new york groove (chicago kevin), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:38 (seventeen years ago) link

Sarah, I hope so!

(it's on the Hot Doug's menu)

JordanC (JordanC), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:39 (seventeen years ago) link

Sarah, you're not being a bitch! Sorry to sound snarky.

Yeah, IO = ImprovOlympic. We're seeing TJ and Dave, who are supposed to be the best improvisers in the city, according to my improv friends. We tried to go a couple months ago but didn't realize it was something that routinely sold out, so we were turned away at the box office.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:40 (seventeen years ago) link

So I apologize for coming off as a bitch sometimes.

when has this happened, ever?

Bodhisattva, let me take you by the hand (kenan), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:40 (seventeen years ago) link

ok, serious question: "Cut loose like a deuce" vs. "Wrapped up like a douche"?

Bodhisattva, let me take you by the hand (kenan), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:42 (seventeen years ago) link

The former.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:42 (seventeen years ago) link

But why would anyone ever say that?

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:43 (seventeen years ago) link

I guess I worry that sometimes I cross the line from coming off a little prudish to just being a bitch, but also I tend to worry too much, so you can just ignore that.

Calico (calico), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:43 (seventeen years ago) link

if you're asking about "blinded by the light" it's "revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night".

chicago kevin is back in a new york groove (chicago kevin), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:44 (seventeen years ago) link

it's "revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night"

but springsteen says "cut loose like a deuce". I think I like that better.

Bodhisattva, let me take you by the hand (kenan), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:45 (seventeen years ago) link

Who wraps up a douche? Worst Valentine's present ever (FYI, John).

n/a (n/a), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:46 (seventeen years ago) link

but springsteen didn't write the song.

chicago kevin is back in a new york groove (chicago kevin), Wednesday, 14 February 2007 16:47 (seventeen years ago) link
