Aren't the only technically disqualified teams at this point the Raiders and the Redskins? I mean FFS I think Rich Eisen went on for exactly 13 minutes last night (the other 47 were spent on mentioning that last night MIGHT VERY WELL BE Brett Favre's last game at Lambeau) about how the Packers could still be in the playoffs EVEN IF THEY LOST LAST NIGHT AND NEXT WEEK if certain things happen. I mean FFS 7-9 teams should not be in the playoffs, there should be a law in which pro teams get replaced by Ohio State and Michigan and even Miami if they try to pretend they are wildcard teams with less than a .500 on their record. This should be a federal law, btw, not just an NFL law because the officials are tricksters, they might reinterpret it and let the Vikings slip in.

I have heard a good deal of blather in the media about "WHAT IF A 7-9 TEAM MAKES IT IN THE NFC" but like that would be almost impossible. Is anyone even paying attention. I mean, an 8-8 team probably won't make it unless Seattle somehow loses two in a row, which seems impossible. I mean, Seattle isn't going to lose to the Bucs, people.

The thing about the NFC is that every single one of the teams in it finds new and challenging ways to look like they are completely disinterested in winning any game at all. Goddamn I wish I had my SI in front of me at work, which player was it that got all called out for celebrating a first down when his team lost 10-0 and was like, "Scoring means nothing to me."

So a friend of mine was at Best Buy on Saturday, only to fortuitously stand behind Chad Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals in the checkout line. What is even funnier than my sackless goat of a friend's hesitance to say hello was the fact that the retail clerk was utterly oblivious to the identity of the person in her check-out line. After scanning Chad Johnson's items and after he handed her his credit card, she replied, "Oh, Mr. Johnson, you haven't signed the back of your card. I'll need to see your ID." Chad Johnson handed her his driver's license (a Florida driver's license; no doubt for the nice tax benefit that comes with Florida citizenship), and the clerk responded, "Florida, huh? What are you doing up here?" To which Chad cheekily responded, "Working at McDonald's."

The only response from the retail clerk: "That's cool."
