Tim Reynolds @ByTimReynolds -- For all who keep thinking Chauncey Billups will be a Heat guard soon, just stop. There's maybe -- maybe -- a 1% chance.
so, what you're saying is . . . THERE'S A CHANCE?

his career stats don't seem very impressive for someone his size (6 points 5 rebounds). i don't know too much about him -- maybe he's got great potential? and, obv., can't teach size.
― Daniel, Esq., Sunday, 11 December 2011 23:34 (twelve years ago) link
ah, right.
hahpros: big, young, athletic, rebounds well, blocks shots, gets along well with otherscons: no basketball skills, abysmal ft shooter
― OOOO, Sunday, 11 December 2011 23:47 (twelve years ago) link
he dunks like a motherfucker, blocks shots, fits well with blake as far as my barely basketball savvy mind can perceive
― mayor jingleberriez, Monday, 12 December 2011 00:09 (twelve years ago) link
gilbert arenas cleared waivers. free to sign anywhere.

I keep on forgetting that the clippers have potential now cuz of blake

"I don't like it," said Bryant. "To be honest with you, I don't like it."

:)
Late Saturday night, Odom's wife and reality TV co-star, Khloe Kardashian, tweeted, "I am curious as to how I am the cause for any trade?"
― Cooper Chucklebutt, Monday, 12 December 2011 00:22 (twelve years ago) link
As Bryant continued to answer questions about Odom joining the team that swept the Lakers out of the second round of the playoffs last spring, his anger grew.
"Now I'm getting pissed off," he said.

eh really you'd want a guy alongside blake who could shoot. or shoot fts.
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 December 2011 00:26 (twelve years ago) link
how many of those guys are there?
― k3vin k., Monday, 12 December 2011 00:27 (twelve years ago) link
no problem fyi dwight howard is now a clipper blake griffin is now a timberwolf and lebron james is now a net.

Hornets asking for E Gordon, Kaman, Bledsoe, Aminu and 2 1st round picks, sources say
no pony?
― mayor jingleberriez, Monday, 12 December 2011 00:58 (twelve years ago) link
why the hell ask for kaman
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:33 (twelve years ago) link
really it's pretty similar to the melo deal, which I'm sure went into their thinking there.
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:35 (twelve years ago) link
Kamen deal up at the end of the year. Could flip him or move Emeka if they keep him. He's a chip, if a flawed and damaged one, and if DeAndre "no discernable basketball ability" Jordan can get 40+ million Chris will be worth something to someone.

― v-shasty, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:45 (twelve years ago) link
If they only get Minny's pick it's a helluva deal.
― EZ Snappin, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:50 (twelve years ago) link
i mean... gordon, bledsoe, aminu AND two picks. i'm sorry, but no.
― v-shasty, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:51 (twelve years ago) link
Out of the two they're asking for, that is.
― EZ Snappin, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:51 (twelve years ago) link
chris paul is good but that's crazy
― v-shasty, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:52 (twelve years ago) link
Why is it too much? Gordon is solid, eventually maybe an all-star, but the others are just potential. NOLA is trading the best PG in the game, and he's only 26.
― EZ Snappin, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:52 (twelve years ago) link
Yeah but his knees, he's still amazing obv, but he lost that wicked first step
― moonbop, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:53 (twelve years ago) link
just how bad are his knees!
― am0n shumpert (dayo), Monday, 12 December 2011 01:53 (twelve years ago) link
chris paul has never struck me as somebody who gets by on pure athleticism - he's not the quickest guy at his height and he's got pretty short limbs
― am0n shumpert (dayo), Monday, 12 December 2011 01:54 (twelve years ago) link
But Paul & Blake together? you give up most anything for that combo.
― EZ Snappin, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:54 (twelve years ago) link
i mean you're essentially trading three top 10 picks, a top 20 pick, and then two MORE first round picks for one player
idk man
― v-shasty, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:56 (twelve years ago) link
for 2 years of chris paul
Picks are potential. Take a sure thing over potential or lose Blake. You might lose Blake if Paul doesn't work out, you will lose Blake with what you have there now.
― EZ Snappin, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:58 (twelve years ago) link
it was reported last year that doctors have informed Paul that he will inevitably need microfracture. I think the time frame is within the next 3 years.
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 December 2011 01:58 (twelve years ago) link
dang - well amare came back but.. guess CP3 is still young
― am0n shumpert (dayo), Monday, 12 December 2011 01:59 (twelve years ago) link
you will lose Blake with what you have there now.
i don't think this is true at all -- banking on signing cp3 to a long term extension in order to keep blake seems a lot more risky to me than trying to build a west coast version of the thunder, where you have a good, young core that grows together and bonds because of that and wants to stay and play together
― v-shasty, Monday, 12 December 2011 02:00 (twelve years ago) link
i mean i know the clippers are the clippers but being in LA gives them more of a chance than most, esp if they recognize that they could be better than the lakers in a few years
― v-shasty, Monday, 12 December 2011 02:02 (twelve years ago) link
But the likelihood they'll be better than the Thunder is really low. Since they have to go through them to advance, I don't see why Blake wouldn't want proven parts instead of a hodgepodge of possibilities.
― EZ Snappin, Monday, 12 December 2011 02:02 (twelve years ago) link
it's hard to overstate how valuable that timberwolves pick is.
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 12 December 2011 02:05 (twelve years ago) link
But my main thought is it's the Clippers. They'll fuck it up either way, but I'd love to watch a couple of years of Blake & Chris alley-oops.
― EZ Snappin, Monday, 12 December 2011 02:05 (twelve years ago) link
I think Blake would be ok with choosing Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon over Chris Paul.
