I kinda like the kings moves. They overpaid a bit for both of them but they need to get up to the salary floor anyway and I like both guys a lot.

the magic have given dwight howard's agent permission to speak with three teams -- the lakers, nets, and mavericks -- about possible trades with orlando.

Also, talks have begun again for the trade that could send CP3 to LAL in a three-way deal also involving houston. league sources say it's progressing well, and there may be a resolution by saturday.

So how do small market teams and Stern benefit if Chris Paul is not traded and leaves as a free agent at the end of the season?

its not abt not trading paul, its abt that nola was getting completely hosed in that particular trade

in fact i wouldnt be surprised if he did get moved to the lakers w/a party than houston as the third team

what any team wants when they are forced to move a superstar and go into rebuilding mode is some combo of good young players, quality draft picks, and cap relief, they got none of those things!

yeah me neither, i dont think theyre championship quality w/him sans odom and gasol tho so w/e lol, their top three players would all be major injury risks now too

they could be a dangerous playoff team if they're all healthy but i don't think this deal adds any wins to their regular season total

nah unfortunately his decline will be gradual and extremely protracted

thats whats happened so far but gradual decline tends to turn into sudden decline

its weird that the lakers arent going after howard instead of cp3 btw imho

i don't understand what could be included in this trade to make it more palatable -- i mean, the lakers have no young players, unless you consider, uh, derrick caracter -- the rockets have a bunch of young players, some are interesting, maybe not good tho, and also if they're still giving up scola & martin, i'm not sure that they could or should give up much more
