well the live DJ is kind of a crappy boot, hence why I got so excited for the "real" version. "Moon in Water" was part of a radio broadcast that streamed at 192kbps so sounds good and has been ripped plenty of times. Basically it's a lot "deeper" (no dance beats, doesn't have that hook either) and uses the Applespeak voice "Vicki" which gives it a surreal atmosphere. But IMO its way better. Some of the original mixes of "Always Loved a Film" were quite interesting too.

oh yeah, "louisiana" is a great, gentle closer.

just played Diamond Jigsaw loud on the jukebox tonight, you know Paul van Dyk really has an amateurish style, the keyboards are underneath everything barely audible but kinda to the point where they should either be turned up or just deleted altogether. and there's one section where he clearly uses the wrong beat preset for one measure. just a weird 'remix'

the tune itself is gold though
oh yeah the 1992-2012 anthology just released, pretty cool stuff. basically it's the same as the 1992-2002 but with 3 tracks from the last decade. that seems low but outside of Barking they haven't really been in singles mode. that said only "Scribble" made the cut.
disc 3 is all rarities, including a lot of old stuff from 1992 and 1993, a couple of dubnobass outtakes, then some really great recent stuff like "Parc" and "JAL to Tokyo"
