I've never been to a Latin Mass. What have I been waiting for?

except for the bit where you spend 30 minutes wondering where the fuck you put your glasses when you passed out on the couch last night

mine are always between the cushion and armrest of the sofa.

also, when i was in the record club i got actual records and 8-tracks as cd's didn't exist yet.

fuck america
there is no sugar in this country
had to go out of my way on the commute this morning
(ok not really very far, like ten steps but still)
to get a cricket cola because I wasn't having any of that hfcs shit
today.
then I finish that
and go down to the cafeteria
and everything, right down to the tropicana in a bottle, is either hfcs
or fucking aspartame.
finally settled on 100% grapefruit juice in a paper carton.
now wishing I had picked up some sugar packets from the coffee mess to perk this up a bit.
oh well.
fuck america.

We had new carpets put in yesterday. They guys who put them in were two Mexicans, but not Mexicans right out of Mexico. They spoke English (with occasional Spanish) but they had that accent that they have even if they're raised here all their life. You know what I mean? So keep the accent in mind.
One guy was 35, the other was 21. They were so funny!

So I'm on Dad's computer checking my e-mails. The 21 year old was working on the rug by where the TV goes. The 35 year old is in the hall were the two halls come together. The conversation went like this:

35: Dude...Have you ever seen Nanny McFee?
21: What?
35: A movie. Nanny McFee?
21: No. I don't even know what that is.
silence....
a minute later....
Me: Have YOU seen it???
35: Yeah! It was really good!
21: What's it about?
35: It's like a modern Mary Poppins.
21: Mary Poppins was a good movie!
35: Yeah! In Nanny McFee the nanny was REALLY ugly. She had to come to take care of these kids, right? Well the kids were all mean and disrespectful. And the nanny was ugly. But the more they grew to love her and respect her, the more beautiful she got.
21: Oh! That sounds like a good movie.
35: yeah. It had a very good moral tale.

From Playtone and producers Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, and Pippa Harris, Starter For 10 is a romantic comedy set in the mid-80s about a working-class kid struggling to make his way in the rarified world of upper-class British University. On his way to achieving his long-held ambition to appear on the British TV Quiz Show, University Challenge, he falls in love with his beautiful teammate and forms a plan to win her heart through his advanced general knowledge skills. Starter For 10 is a bittersweet comedy about loyalty, class, falling in love and the difference between knowledge and wisdom.

Hilary Swank plays a former Christian missionary who lost her faith after her family was tragically killed, and has since become a world renowned expert in disproving religious phenomena. But when she investigates a small Louisiana town that is suffering from what appear to be the Biblical plagues, she realizes that science cannot explain it.

Dead Dylan Thomas (Party with me Punker), Wednesday, 21 February 2007 16:41 (seventeen years ago) link

They finish each other’s sentences, dance like Fred and Ginger, and share the same downtown loft — the perfect couple? Not exactly. Gray and Sam (Heather Graham and Tom Cavanagh), are a sister and brother so compatible and inseparable that people actually assume they are dating. Mortified, they both agree they must branch out and start searching for love.
