I thought the whole reason why the lakers were so good was the triple threat they had in odum, bynum, gasol - the idea that they're gonna give up all that so they can go small with CP3 and KB8 is pretty lol

This would be so great for the Lakers if their coach wasn't horrible.

my take on the lakers deal:

houston- why? Why load up on Pau now? Morey has done a great job of assembling young talent and picks and he cashes in on Pau?

Lakers- only really like it if they get D-Ho. Then it's obviously a mega coup.

Hornets- The winners of the trade in my book. Martin, Scola, Odom and a first rounder for a point guard who by all accounts will need microfracture surgery in the next 3 years? It's not quite as good as the Carmelo deal but it's damn close.

remember the trade to OKC? It got rescinded because the OKC doctors wouldn't sign off on Chandler's toe. as a result his contract is probably uninsurable.

Amare's deal is also uninsurable. Great franchise plan they've got up there!

If Howard goes to LA along with CP3, I'm going to mail Mitch Kupchak some powdered anthrax. Or else just get really depressed. Or both.

I kind of wonder how championships from shortened seasons are viewed in comparison with regular chips - like do people just not respect the spurs chip from the 50 game season as much as they do their other chips

That whole season is basically forgotten.

that knicks team was so embarrassing

so even if dwight/kb8/cp3 win a chip this season they'd have to win one next season as well to 'leave a legacy' and by then kobe's knees are just gonna fall off

the hornets might suck this year because of a short training camp, and their pg play will be bad, but this is not a bad nba rotation:

Kevin Martin/Willie Green
Lamar Odom/Trevor Ariza
Luis Scola/Landry?
Okafor

Throw in the 2012 knicks pick via the rockets and they could be ok in a year (in San Jose?)

the stupid thing is that the knicks screwed themselves over by getting melo. he's awesome, but deron or cp3 or howard would've made a ton more sense for them.
