i guess LAL have to be the western conference favorite, tho, since dallas is losing chandler. maybe OKC.

i think it's still far more likely that they get the godfather offer from the bulls
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:12 (twelve years ago) link
also wtf is going on the nba is fucking crazy again yay!
― ~occubarn~ (clay), Thursday, December 8, 2011 10:46 PM
srsly its like http://30.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lv57uojPhv1qfjjglo3_250.gif all of a sudden
― amon, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:15 (twelve years ago) link
btw way under the radar i LOVE the butler-to-clips move, clips basically had an empty pair of shoes at small forward last year so tough juice is a big upgrade even if his numbers aren't big

giving a 31 year old who has played 56 games over the past two seasons a 3 yr / 24 m deal is o_O
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:18 (twelve years ago) link
yeah feel like the clips either dont have faith in aminu or care more about using him as a trade piece for god knows what.
― mayor jingleberriez, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:19 (twelve years ago) link
i def don't think aminu is ready to start in the nba
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:20 (twelve years ago) link
i think it's still far more likely that they get the godfather (pizza) offer from the bulls
this made me think the bulls were going to trade herman cain to orlando
― Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:21 (twelve years ago) link
If rest of deal goes through as proposed, sources tell ESPN that HOU would send Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Goran Dragic to N.O. for Gasol
This deal keeps morphing.
― polyphonic, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:22 (twelve years ago) link
so houston gets gasol and . . . keeps trying to get nene or dalembert?
― Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:23 (twelve years ago) link
that makes a lot more sense
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:24 (twelve years ago) link
that being the three way deal
so they'd have money for gasol and dalembert/nene, i guess.
― Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:25 (twelve years ago) link
trying to figure out if houston is dropping out of the race for one of those two centers.
― Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:26 (twelve years ago) link
overall that's a pretty good if totally weird deal for NO
― ~occubarn~ (clay), Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:26 (twelve years ago) link
yeah they need a center -- also might have to replace martin w/ someone
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:26 (twelve years ago) link
not that anybody in the world gives two shits about the hornets but
― ~occubarn~ (clay), Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:27 (twelve years ago) link
looking out for the heat. since, as you know, our big center acquisition is . . . oh never mind.

yeah i mean, not much is happening for the future, but nothing ever was. martin, scola, odom are three good pieces
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:27 (twelve years ago) link
i mean
jarret jackkevin martintrevor arizalouis scolaemeka okafor
+ odom
you could have worse teams
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:28 (twelve years ago) link
that's not a playoff team most likely but it's not the worst team in the world
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:29 (twelve years ago) link
RT @johnhollinger Hornets would need to renounce David West to make this trade work as reported.
― polyphonic, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:29 (twelve years ago) link
well if they were picking up two power forwards in the deal, they probably would
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:30 (twelve years ago) link
Ha look at that line-up, it's a team of trade throw-ins! They're just completely being used as a fence for actual teams!
― ~occubarn~ (clay), Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:30 (twelve years ago) link
scola is pretty awesome
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:32 (twelve years ago) link
i keep confusing him with the local (and outstanding) miami circuit court judge who just got elevated to the third district court of appeals bench.
i picture him in his judicial robe, lobbing a pass to odom.
― Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:33 (twelve years ago) link
houston still has tons of cap room -- gasol's salary is 19m, but they're unloading 22m b/w scola and martin
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:34 (twelve years ago) link
oh yeah <3 scola just saying the league should have started running a team for the purpose of trade facilitation ages ago
― ~occubarn~ (clay), Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:34 (twelve years ago) link
houston's roster is for real so hilarious, i can never get over it
they have jonny flynn, hasheem thabeet and jordan hill on the same team!!!
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:35 (twelve years ago) link
and terrence williams!
bah. i want nene or dalembert on the heat. stop chasing them, houston rockets!
― Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:35 (twelve years ago) link
and yes, i realize we "don't have" the "cap space" to sign them. whatevs. make it happen.
i was just staring at the computer screen for 3 mins going "when the fuck did the rockets get goran dragic????????" but then i realized i was confusing him w/ marcin gortat
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:36 (twelve years ago) link
plz tell me morey is gonna go after marc
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:37 (twelve years ago) link

ricky rubio is pretty cute
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:40 (twelve years ago) link
SherrodbCSN: Celtics were confident they were of landing Paul. Source says they were already planning a physical for him.
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:43 (twelve years ago) link
oh right i forgot baot aminu, he's nice but seems like he should be a sixth man
yeah its kind of a lot of money for butler but i bet its going to be eclipsed by some legendary bad contracts in the next few days
might have a whiff of the cavalier's parade of bad signings to "convince" lebron to "stay" about it, except in this case lebron is blake
― concussion section, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:44 (twelve years ago) link
aminu will need to be the 6th man because they dont really have one
― mayor jingleberriez, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:45 (twelve years ago) link
oh for christs sakes just when this was shaping up to be a good day
― cad, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:47 (twelve years ago) link
i'm already bored by chris paul as a laker. he needs to leave LA, to shake off the doldrums and rejuvenate his career.
next free-agent signing please!
― Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:48 (twelve years ago) link
so, if the lakers DON'T get howard, this is a pretty massive risk. they're gonna go into the season, at least at the moment, with one big man who has had a myriad of knee injuries his entire career. oh btw, did we mention that we're trying to cram 66 games into four and a half months and that's not even including the playoffs?
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:49 (twelve years ago) link
yep.
Russ Bengtson @russbengtson -- Sounds like the NBA is using their amnesty on the Hornets.
― Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:50 (twelve years ago) link
if the lakers do get howard, the only way they could lose would be for kobe to submarine the team
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:50 (twelve years ago) link
which, you know, *fingers crossed*
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:51 (twelve years ago) link
so you think howard on LA puts them far over miami?
just seems like both teams have odd chemistry and roster issues.
― Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:51 (twelve years ago) link
howard -- (who are their forwards?) -- kobe -- paul.
― Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:52 (twelve years ago) link
i would be scared of a team where dwight howard was the third best option on offense, yes
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 23:52 (twelve years ago) link
i don't disagree. but constructing their team that way leaves them with gaping holes at two starting spots, just like the issue miami faces.
