yesterday my dad totally called me out on never answering the phone

he felt better after learning i never ever answer the phone, not just when it's him calling

i was talking to my mom about a clothing catalog i used to look at called "girlfriends" which had cute stuff for teenagers so she looked online but couldn't find their website so i looked and instead came across some lesbian stuff that made me blush and i said NEVERMIND NEVERMIND NEVERMIND and then she told my dad and then my dad said he couldn't talk to me because he had to go look it up for himself.

i love her (and him)

when i was little (<6) they came to visit, and my sister and i were displaced so they could sleep in our room. when they left i was really sad. but in the wastebasket there was a tissue my aunt had used to blot her lipstick. also it smelled like her perfume.

i intended to cherish it because it was a little bit of her that remained behind, but for some reason my sister derided me and crumpled it up.

she still smells the same xoxox ::::))))

also i had a madcrazy crush on my uncle because he was so handsome and nice.

i have an aunt chris and an uncle chris. they are married but not really.

oh yeah and:

she told how she never remembers which kind of scotch she likes best but her son does, so he gives her a bottle every birthday, acting like it'll last her till her next birthday. then she did her signature "yeah right" scoff-laugh and we lolled a lot.

haha heard the entire plots of two books so far this morning.

i just am not in the right frame of mind to converse, so she's doing her best to converse for both of us, god love her.

also we dyed eggs and commiserated about how we suck at dying eggs

funny memory: at the gathering before my grandmother's funeral, in the midst of the somber murmers and quiet conversations, my mother burst out happily and loudly, "IT'S DOODLE!"

"doodle" was the nickname of one of my mom's girlhood friends, who had shown up unannounced because she had seen my grandmother's obituary. she and my mom hadn't seen one another for maybe 40 years.

it makes me laugh every time i think of it. IT'S DOODLE!
