so it's basically exactly the same thing, but with jarritos and tapas-style serving.

I didn't know Oyamel was a restaurant from crystal city. We heard from the bartender at Jaleo that Andale fell apart because the owners divorced, so I figured the husband was just re-opening the same basic restaurant with a different name.

during my last few meals at andale it was clear that nobody outside the bar staff cared what they were doing. The head bartender was crazy great, though. I'd like to know where he's working now. Oyamel is owned by Jose Andres, the Jaleo/Zaytinya/Etc. guy. The prices are a little higher than they were in Crystal City but hey, at least it's not in Crystal City.

tom, if you didn't make up your mind yet, id say clyde's downtown is perfectly acceptable.. the food isn't great but it's not horrible.. it's like the perfect place to go w/dad who likes olive garden and his buddies who usually have good old midwestern food.. when it's not so much about having a great dinner as minimizing the risk that anyone in the party will be displeased

also, ally i don't know what i eat most of the time, i spent a half hour in whole foods @ lunch break today trying to figure out what i could eat there.. half the store is a deli now but almost all the deli food is gross.. i ended up with some greek yogurt, chicken soup, and whole grain ezekiel bread

dar1a, which whole foods is it? the one up at tenleytown drove me NUTS with that last time i was there, it's like 78% deli food that I do not want to eat, ever, and it's impossible for me to decide on actual grocery items when i'm in there.
