― Mr. Stevenson #2, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 23:22 (twelve years ago) link
or would even endorsing one candidate over another not be 'positive' enough for him
"house party" is just one of those 'thank god they put this on the radio' kind of songs for me, i don't know if i would've gravitated toward it if i'd heard it on the mixtape first
― Mr. Stevenson #2, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 23:23 (twelve years ago) link
man i could really listen to the first paris record right now, let's burn this shithole to the ground
― upper mississippi 2: still shakin, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 23:23 (twelve years ago) link
i never understood why ppl always thought politics was like bad or boring, revolutionary shit sounds fucking awesome its cool to fantasize about fucking up the MAN
― upper mississippi 2: still shakin, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 23:27 (twelve years ago) link
i think jay & kanye are both wack right now but 'nbombs in paris' is undeniable
also, 'house party' is totally awesome so j0rdan and al both get to be RONG
― joey joe joe junior shabadoo, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 23:27 (twelve years ago) link
cmon dude 'house party's opening verse is about fucking in the bathroom during a house party & running the water so ppl dont hear it, that shit is like digital underground shit, plus a banging beat
― joey joe joe junior shabadoo, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 23:29 (twelve years ago) link
shit shit
i agree with j0rdan, it's okay but not one of the standouts on dreamchasers (middle of da summer, work, ima boss, dreamchasers, love done live here)
― degas-dirty monet (lex pretend), Wednesday, 7 December 2011 23:29 (twelve years ago) link
'work' and 'love don't live here' aren't touching 'house party' or 'tony story' which you skipped completely
― joey joe joe junior shabadoo, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 23:32 (twelve years ago) link
the beat of niggas in paris is fuckin great.
& du flocka rent is the best BSM stuff this year
― sisilafami, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 23:34 (twelve years ago) link
the best stuff off that is "tony story", "i'ma boss" (cheating kinda, but still), "don't panic", "middle of da summer" and the one w/ beans (kinda super underrated beans verse imo)
― v-shasty, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 23:36 (twelve years ago) link

― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 02:00 (twelve years ago) link
i love how the implication is you thought he looked totally badass with his beard and lionel richie hair
― Mr. Stevenson #2, Thursday, 8 December 2011 02:02 (twelve years ago) link
i mean that's EXACTLY how he's looked for 80% of the time he's been famous
― Mr. Stevenson #2, Thursday, 8 December 2011 02:03 (twelve years ago) link
oh my god women totally wont want to fuck this former soap star anymore what a dork
― regional pug (dealwithit.gif), Thursday, 8 December 2011 02:05 (twelve years ago) link
yeah but at least the curly hair + beard doesn't look like he got a $12 haircut the day before his fifth grade yearbook photos
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 02:05 (twelve years ago) link

― Mr. Stevenson #2, Thursday, 8 December 2011 02:12 (twelve years ago) link
it's wrong to point out that drake's hair makes him look like a huge dork?
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 02:13 (twelve years ago) link
al, don't "srsly" me after you started ilx's second drake photo thread
wait i didn't start any threads did i
like i said, drake looked like that for all of 2009 and 2010, that's why it's funny that you're pointing it out like urgent news
― Mr. Stevenson #2, Thursday, 8 December 2011 02:15 (twelve years ago) link
i thought you started the "lol at drake thread" or w/e
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 03:12 (twelve years ago) link

i was reluctant about kendrick lamar at first but im over it now i think; i like that he's got a weird way of rapping and i'm really excited about some of the production he's getting & in the general dissemination of that style

yeah fuck i only listened to dreamchasers the other day and meant to come straight here and rave about that beans verse. he's one of the only rappers than can send shivers down my spine. i didn't really get 'middle of summer' before but it works so well in the context of that tape.
― gucc_ebooks (tpp), Thursday, 8 December 2011 09:33 (twelve years ago) link
middle of the summer was awesome, it captures a vibe that feels a lot more rare in popular hip-hop right now that used to seem more prevalent
― joey joe joe junior shabadoo, Thursday, 8 December 2011 09:42 (twelve years ago) link
def -- there's something evocative about that beat and him just kinda repeating the song title
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 15:03 (twelve years ago) link
verse is dope too, dude is a very storyteller
that track i guess isn't much of a story, but it kinda is -- very macro story
― v-shasty, Thursday, 8 December 2011 15:04 (twelve years ago) link
I kinda assume everyone's aware of this already: E-40 to drop THREE new albums on same day

if i have a few bucks to spend that week i'm gonna buy them all just off the respect

This is no dis to mixtapes. I like mixtapes. But you have some people putting out mixtapes when it really is their album, but [calling it a mixtape] is just a security blanket in case the project don’t perform well.
ha otm
