The Rockies be MAN country.

q I have to say I think after his last suggestion I think I'll stick to taking brian's random suggestions for various little unknown type places and come to grips with the fact that "where do I shot cheeseburger or fish+chips that is good" is the kind of question you ask when you are a person who A) does not spend a lot of time in the city B) sucks at life C) completely deserves being sent to Clyde's or the Ocea-Fucking-Naire to be held in contempt by the wait staff and assorted regular downtown dbags

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 18:56 (seventeen years ago) link

I was not talking about bar pilar I meant the ones before

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 18:57 (seventeen years ago) link

Old Ebbet Grill seems perfect, though.

hey Old Ebbitt's is number one booked restaurant at OpenTable.com and Clyde's is #4! Secretaries from farragut to penn quarter be filling in lunch dates on the internet-tron!

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 18:59 (seventeen years ago) link

also i just remembered! one of the best fox 5 expose hook lines, as heard by me in line @ naan & beyond today: "HOW OLD IS THAT SAUSAGE IN THE WINDOW?"

A prize for anyone who finds a zipcode that is more than 58% female.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:00 (seventeen years ago) link

TBOT I was trying to come up with places that have cheeseburgers AND fried fish! OR is a totally different subset of places.

mother russia rain down, dammit (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:01 (seventeen years ago) link

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:01 (seventeen years ago) link

Or try to go to RFD again and see how much shit on the menu they're completely out of already this week

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:02 (seventeen years ago) link

hahaha at RFD you're better off if they're out of shit on the menu!

mother russia rain down, dammit (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:03 (seventeen years ago) link

There is no way of cross referencing, I want to find where's got the most single left wing women.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:03 (seventeen years ago) link

otm, go to the Brickskeller instead if you're trying to be disappointed.

Cap City, now, there's a wait staff that'll make you pine for the simple spazzy blank stares of Georgetown's service employees

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:04 (seventeen years ago) link

cap city does hit the trifecta of poor service, bad food, and not even good beer for a brewpub!

mother russia rain down, dammit (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:05 (seventeen years ago) link

they have a pretty nice kolsch. it's refreshing. good summer beer. and the pretzels, I wish more places would bring you superpretzels and mustard like that.

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:07 (seventeen years ago) link

you guys should go to Columbia and go to that brewery in the mall, I seem to remember us getting blitzed there with luke like at least 2300 times.

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:14 (seventeen years ago) link

no prob, ally!

haha i like the brickskeller but maybe that's just because judging by my life so far i'm obviously a fan of disappointment

ZR (teenagequiet), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:16 (seventeen years ago) link

has anybody been to the clyde's downtown?

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:17 (seventeen years ago) link

Brickskeller's all about setting the right expectation level. And ordering your next beer each time a fresh one gets delivered.

mother russia rain down, dammit (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:17 (seventeen years ago) link

OMG I LOVE THE CLYDE'S DOWNTOWN!

mother russia rain down, dammit (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:18 (seventeen years ago) link

has anybody been to the clyde's downtown?

yes, for an impromptu high school reunion where none of us could figure out who suggested that we meet up there

ZR (teenagequiet), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:19 (seventeen years ago) link

well, the food is kind of average (good burgers, though! and good reuben!), but the space is seriously the most amazing restaurant in DC.

mother russia rain down, dammit (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:19 (seventeen years ago) link

oysters are good, too.

mother russia rain down, dammit (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:19 (seventeen years ago) link

is it going to really be full of insufferable dickweeds come about 7pm on a Tuesday

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:19 (seventeen years ago) link

because that can take the quality of the dining, imbibing and space-amazement down about 110% of all available notches in every category REAL FAST for me especially today. I was gonna start stiff-arming motherfuckers on the metro this morning, having a whole day off to sit around and hang out with the wife+cats and play Zelda was ill-advised for this city dweller

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:21 (seventeen years ago) link

Wizards game starts at 7, so most of them should be clearing out. And they have a LOT of space and booths for maximum dickweed separation.

mother russia rain down, dammit (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:21 (seventeen years ago) link

in fairness me and the cats stayed in the other room for like 80% of the day listening to the replacements, so it wasn't like it was THAT awesome

Allyzay heard you got beat up in a club. (Allyzay Eisenschefter), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:22 (seventeen years ago) link

The three bars there are always douchefull, but the upstairs seating is pretty separate.

mother russia rain down, dammit (Brian Miller), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:24 (seventeen years ago) link

well I wasn't talking about awesomeness, just my vastly lowered tolerance for other living creatures that dwell outside of our apartment

TOMB07 (trm), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:25 (seventeen years ago) link

oh the kitties are replacements fans, huh?

Dead Dylan Thomas (Party with me Punker), Tuesday, 20 February 2007 19:25 (seventeen years ago) link
