24. Brush or comb her/his teeth

tiit (t**t), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:00 (seventeen years ago) link

that list is ridiculous. and poorly written.

Ms Misery (MsMisery), Monday, 12 February 2007 19:02 (seventeen years ago) link

For once I am glad I'm single on Valentine's, bitch would probably talk all the way through L O S T.

Me and Mister Monkey will not be able to have lovely Valentine's Day together because we have stupid housemates who never go out anywhere. Sigh.

M Grout (Mark Grout), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 11:52 (seventeen years ago) link

Am now maybe going to see HIS GIRL FRIDAY tomorrow, which sounds like a perfect Valentine's.

g000blar (g00blar), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 11:57 (seventeen years ago) link

22. Prank: Give your valentine the keys of your new car and then tell her that it's the only the keys you can afford now.

eh?

M Grout (Mark Grout), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 11:59 (seventeen years ago) link

I think I'm going to be swapping clothes with total strangers.

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:03 (seventeen years ago) link

I think maybe that list was written by someone whose first language was not English. I've only just worked out that 2. Don't go to office and spend it with your spouse. actually suggests that you shouldn't go to work but should stay home with your partner instead. I thought at first it was an order NOT to go to your spouse's office to spend the day with them there.

C J (C J), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:06 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm cooking. That's it. There might be wine and the Devil Wears Prada (my choice). I will try not to snore all night. Last of the romantics baby!

kv_nol (kv_nol), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:08 (seventeen years ago) link

I am semi-dreading Valentines Day. Last year a tarte tatin was thrown. We won't be having that this year.

Dr.C (Dr.C), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:12 (seventeen years ago) link

Really? Wow!

g000blar (g00blar), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:13 (seventeen years ago) link

Tarte Tatin frisbee!

C J (C J), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:20 (seventeen years ago) link

Tarte tatin isn't as aerodynamic as a Frisbee, but it's stickier. Very difficult to get off things..... and people.

Dr.C (Dr.C), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:25 (seventeen years ago) link

Not if you have a dog.

C J (C J), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:27 (seventeen years ago) link

A dog that's not afraid of heights....or has a VERY long tongue.

Can I get one before tomorrow evening?

Dr.C (Dr.C), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:31 (seventeen years ago) link

No, but you could probably get a chihuahua and a long ladder by then.

C J (C J), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:33 (seventeen years ago) link

a long romantic drive

= handjob in traffic on the South Circular

It's Teatime in Buttercup Land (Maaarghk C), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 12:38 (seventeen years ago) link

Plenty of tarte tatin on the South Circular if you go up there at certain times of the weekend...

Didn't take much if any notice of Valentine's Day before now, but Lena's keen on it, so we've sent each other some nice packages with pressies and things, and I'm furiously busy writing up something for CoM so I can post it tomorrow.

Nothing like romance to get me working! ;-)

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 13:26 (seventeen years ago) link

As I say every year, Valentine's Day is actually my birthday so it's a good excuse to a) take my single friends out and get twatted, and b) never feel emo ever. Hooray.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 13:27 (seventeen years ago) link

That is pretty great, actually.

g000blar (g00blar), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 13:27 (seventeen years ago) link

I congratulate Matt's parents on their excellent family planning.

C J (C J), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 13:29 (seventeen years ago) link

Yeah, it's near enough my birthday for me not to care. For those of you interested, I shall be announcing my departure from the teen ages live on air this Saturday at 00:00:00.

Comrades, meet Tildo Durd (Scourage), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 13:30 (seventeen years ago) link

The merry month of May is greatly underrated.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 13:30 (seventeen years ago) link

x-post from or into?

Dr.C (Dr.C), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 13:32 (seventeen years ago) link

My birthday is in November, so I might have been conceived on Valentine's Day. There's a cheery thought.

C J (C J), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 13:34 (seventeen years ago) link

xpost: very good, 3/10 if I'm feeling generous, which I ain't.

Comrades, meet Tildo Durd (Scourage), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 13:35 (seventeen years ago) link

I had long-stemmed chocolate covered strawberries yesterday.

Matilda Wormwood (Mary ), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:07 (seventeen years ago) link

Haha, that's because your boyfriend knows a few things about how to live. And because you deserve them, of course!

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:09 (seventeen years ago) link

Boyfriend?

Matilda Wormwood (Mary ), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:11 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh, do you share a last name with someone else around here? I think I just misattributed yr user name. Sorry!

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:13 (seventeen years ago) link

get twatted

haha I love this, kind of a horrible double entendre

nklshs (nklshs), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:14 (seventeen years ago) link

My husband stopped to buy me some flowers on the way back from work once, in a wonderfully spontaneous romantic gesture. Except he was on his motorbike at the time and since he had no panniers, he'd stuck the flowers down the front of his motorbike jacket and on arrival home he flourishingly presented me with a dozen long-stemmed stems.

C J (C J), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:21 (seventeen years ago) link

I am Mary on this board:)

Matilda Wormwood (Mary ), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:29 (seventeen years ago) link

Laurel and Mary: hah!

My Mom sent me a VDay package which included Orange Sponge Candy which made everything infinitely better.

molly mummenschanz (molly d), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 16:38 (seventeen years ago) link

This is spectacularly sappy, but in addition to other terrific presents, she customized a bunch of candy hearts for me with sandpaper and food-coloring markers, and I just think that's the coolest thing ever.

I just cannot get my head round the idea of buying Valentine's Day gifts or cards for anyone other than, well, my valentine. It seems strange.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 17:41 (seventeen years ago) link

The Achewood Cookbook rules.

it's on in Christchurch. At 8.00pm. It is free. You do not need a ticket.

I am sad to have missed this, how was it? Would you let me know if something similar is happening again in future?

rener did he get up and do his thang?

Dinner was a success but I think I snored :(

kv_nol (kv_nol), Thursday, 15 February 2007 11:22 (seventeen years ago) link

Sorry that was about my proposed 'romantic' efforts for the evening as mentioned upthread.

Laurel, I'll try and find a link to the supermarket shop. It's about 8 or 9 moves combined.
