I think there's a certain amount of fronting going on when a so-so cheesy pun aimed at tumblr whites / kegstanding sorority girls is ******the worst thing ever******, esp. considering that you listen to a lot of music w/ similarly cheesy puns, just ones that aren't aimed at the same demographic.

imo in any medium where wordplay and obnoxious displays of cleverness are currency, there's always going to be a fine fine line between a good pun and a horrible pun, and it just kinda feels like you're pushing toward some zero some game of "you can't criticize a punchline rapper unless you hate all punchline rappers"

nah more just "I think you're all sorta overstating the awfulness of this/that innocuous pun because you hate the people who would enjoy this music more than because you really think this is a new low in the history of rap puns..."
