he has a really really fucked up citation and wants me to fix it, I've suggested two things and he doesn't like either solution and now wants me to search based on date volume and page number, i.e. not use the name of the journal which means basically I would be plugging in three sets of numbers into google and nothing else.

Yeah, that'll get me GREAT results!

it's funny, the problem is the citation is listed wrong & has no article title on the patent, BUT all we'd have to do is pull the file at the patent office to see what the article is, it would be there, and would take like one day but OH NOES we can't do that or something????? also this guy is new and also i don't think English is his first language, not that this makes a bit of difference, I just am trying to be patient with the guy and not assume anything.
