has anyone ever actually sat and listened to all of "I am sitting in a room" that didn't have to do it for school?

chaki (chaki), Saturday, 17 February 2007 05:46 (seventeen years ago) link

i make a living off of conferences.

ive had to sit through too many.

the best are the marketing ones. the worst are leagal or medical ones. the most hilarious one was a conference for b0tox. pharma reps are like the cool kids you never hung out with in high school and b0tox reps are like trhe cool kids in a high school of nothing but pharma reps.

i didnt have to work today though, i got high and hit golf balls instead.

i hate socializing with people at conferences, but i like having a hotel room with a giant bed and cable. also hotel breakfasts are awesome.

go to hillcrest and waste a few hours in the gay bookstores. and go eat a gyros plate in that greek restaurant with the blue and white decor.

Yes, but only a few times. Usually I skip straight to side 2. Which basically just sounds like it could fit on selected ambient II.

if someone brings waffles, fruit and coffeee to your room at 7:30, morning is nice!

bell labs (bell_labs), Saturday, 17 February 2007 07:21 (seventeen years ago) link

I had a business room once with a river view, a fireplace, and a bathroom the size of my current kitchen (also hot tub). I could have stayed a lot longer than two days. No room service, tho.

how do i shot business trip + hotel room? the extent of my work traveling is usually taking the subway downtown to the county clerk and state dept. but at least i get $4 from that (i use my metro card but get to charge for 2 $2 train trips!).

my next "business trip" (the apa conference in philly) i'm footing the bill for airfare + my part of a shared hotel room, but the apa is reimbursing me for the actual conference fee (already discounted student rate) because i'm giving them a few hours of volunteer time. hopefully they'll give me some time off to go eat cheesesteaks!
