8lb 4oz is quite big for a first child, isn't it? I think that's about what I was and they thought I was going to be twins. So I should add extra good thoughts for Isabel.

"8lb 4oz is quite big for a first child, isn't it? "

I think so, but not really *over the top*. Ophelia was about that weight. I was 4 kilos 500 grams! My grandfather? FIVE KILOS. WTF!

nathalie (stevienixed), Saturday, 2 December 2006 16:49 (seventeen years ago) link

They didn't have kilos when I was born.

Many, many congratulations to the Ewings! All these wonderful ILX offspring - at this rate, we're going to need an "I Love Babies" board :)

My friend, who is about 5ft two and very slender of frame gave birth to a 10lb baby. It took 24 hours and ended in an emergency c-section. You'd think they could have done it a bit sooner, wouldn't you?

Madchen (Madchen), Sunday, 3 December 2006 12:34 (seventeen years ago) link

congratulations tom and family!

this just in:

Lytton Michael Ewing

not named after minor Dr Who character, yeah right ;)

CarsmileSteve (Carsmile Steve), Sunday, 3 December 2006 13:57 (seventeen years ago) link

Surely named after Louisa Lytton aka Ruby Allen off 'Stenders?

ailsa_xx (ailsa_xx), Sunday, 3 December 2006 18:41 (seventeen years ago) link

Strachey was my first reaction. Good middle name, too.

Tom's first responsibilities as an ILX parent are: buy a digital camera, get a Pro Flickr account.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Sunday, 3 December 2006 23:40 (seventeen years ago) link

roffle at Carsmile, that was my first thought

Jesus Dan (dan perry), Monday, 4 December 2006 06:29 (seventeen years ago) link

step hen faps (Curt1s Stephens), Monday, 4 December 2006 07:02 (seventeen years ago) link

This is fantastic news. Many congrats Tom and Isabel!

Matt DC's name suggestion made me laugh. I was thinking more along the lines of 'Pet Shop Boys First Twenty Singles Ewing'.

Lytton is a rocking good name though.

Dr.C (Dr.C), Monday, 4 December 2006 10:56 (seventeen years ago) link

Fantastic, well done!

Rumps (Rumps), Monday, 4 December 2006 11:55 (seventeen years ago) link

Congratulations to you both. Lytton is a geat name.
