jamie's great british food was a strange mix, happily avoided too much embarrassing forced inclusion of chinese five spice into his mash tonight

AOC looks three to four times the footballer feo will ever be

feo that was touted as a replacement for the inevitably-injured RVP itvt not a day ago

napoli are just about the most liked team in europe atm

am gonna do nap v. dortmund poll when ilx starts back up.

so we play aoc on the wing when the most in-form winger in the league goes into the centre. cool. we'd not miss a lick of rvi.

big popppa hoy, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 05:22 (twelve years ago) link

?

Nani? Lennon? Leighton Baines?

Who scores for you when rvp gets injured?

daramaracas.jpg (p much resigned to deems), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 09:26 (twelve years ago) link

Gervinho? Arshavin? Theo? Ramsey? Chamakh is just out of form but he's perfect for the tap-ins RVI is currently putting away. Just because we have a striker going through a purple patch doesn't mean we aren't built around a team performance. A team performance built that way because RVI used to get long injuries, I might add.

More Pompey woes, David Conn laments another failure of the fit-and-proper-person test.

"Greg Clarke, its chairman [of the Football League], is seeking prevention rather than cure, encouraging clubs to be responsibly run rather than looking for further scrutiny of owners."

I've got my head in my hands that this is still an open question tbh.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 10:16 (twelve years ago) link

LFC looked good from what I could tell from the highlights last night. Love Maxi. Am coming round to Henderson (awful 'tackle' on him by Lukaku btw)

Meanwhile am quite enjoying Bayern's mini collapse due to Schweinsteiger's injury. They tried Kroos at DM vs Dortmund - didn't work cos it's really not his position. Against Mainz they went with Alaba at DM - safe to say it didn't work seeing as Mainz scored 3 and missed at least 3 more great chances. Meanwhile Bayern left Robben on the bench for the entire game amidst rumours of a 'falling out' (don't know the real story there)

So 4 points cover the top 5, including joint top Gladbach who were rock bottom when Lucien Favre took over in February this year!

pandemic, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 11:10 (twelve years ago) link

There's playing a weakened team then there's this shite:

"We are in a position where we have forfeited going through and having the chance to reach a cup final."

Raising the stakes for the Swansea game, I like his style. I'm thinking that's becoming a must-watch, actually, Swansea could destroy them if all goes well.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 11:54 (twelve years ago) link

sam r u srs?

Those guys miss goals, they don't score them.

Stop windin

daramaracas.jpg (p much resigned to deems), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 13:21 (twelve years ago) link

Chamakh was utterly non-existent last night and Gervinho must be one the least composed players in the league

Number None, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 13:42 (twelve years ago) link

Gervinho? Arshavin? Theo? Ramsey?

sandbox excelsior?

ken c, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 13:47 (twelve years ago) link

Makes you wonder why Wenger perseveres with RVP, tbh

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 13:54 (twelve years ago) link

Gervinho has his uses, i mean tbf he'd be a hell of a beater on a pheasant hunt.

Walcott's improved, but he's still just a quick bad footballer

Arshavin hasn't played a decent 90 mins since his first tax bill came in.

Must have missed Ramsey rattling them in throughout his career.

Chamakh doesn't figure in Wenger's plans, tho that's hardly his fault. Guy is shit but reasonably effective.

Claiming you're not a one-man team when one guy scores half of your goals is nonsense. It just....is.

daramaracas.jpg (p much resigned to deems), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 13:59 (twelve years ago) link

and it's not as if it's a mcleish tactic of 'we'll keep it tight and rely on bent' type of 'one guy scores all your goals'. You're an attack minded team that has conceded 23 vs 26 scored.

daramaracas.jpg (p much resigned to deems), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 14:01 (twelve years ago) link

I've kind of gotten the impression that Arhsavin's Arsenal career is over anyway

Number None, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 14:16 (twelve years ago) link

he scored 4 goals once in one game though

ken c, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 14:19 (twelve years ago) link

so did Baptista

Number None, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 14:21 (twelve years ago) link

Arsenal should buy him back actually

Number None, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 14:21 (twelve years ago) link

that only works against one team unfortunately
xp baptista and arshavin

ilx bandsox (nakhchivan), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 15:06 (twelve years ago) link

so we play aoc on the wing when the most in-form winger in the league goes into the centre

Is he talking about Theo?!!??

I think so

Lil dude's crackin up

daramaracas.jpg (p much resigned to deems), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 15:21 (twelve years ago) link

Happens to the best of us, look at M. Wenger

Tony Hart land (Deep in the Tony Hart land), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 15:23 (twelve years ago) link

Theo's become good in fairness, I'd say now good enough to be an automatic choice for Arsenal and a justified England regular. And he's got scope to keep improving too, though this talk about moving to CF is a bit much.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 15:25 (twelve years ago) link

Lucas out for 6 months? Please no. Fucking hell.

Chris, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 15:30 (twelve years ago) link

villified players that are overly-championed by partisans, lucas vs walcott

Walcott vs Lennon atm? For right wing I choose Lennon, tho he's prob better on the left. Is Walcott playing striker at all?

daramaracas.jpg (p much resigned to deems), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 15:37 (twelve years ago) link

uncomfortable using the word "winger" for dudes who can't cross a ball, wd prefer "inside forward" or "crazylegs crane" or something

Julie Lagger, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 15:52 (twelve years ago) link

Unfair. Theo did a good cross on Saturday.

Tony Hart land (Deep in the Tony Hart land), Wednesday, 30 November 2011 15:56 (twelve years ago) link

xxp. Impossible to exaggerate how good Lucas has been these last 3 games - he's been fucking immense.

Chris, Wednesday, 30 November 2011 15:57 (twelve years ago) link

i'd say it's possible, chris, but come now i've always rated the lad.

Julie lagger otm but who is julie lagger?

Walcott and lennon are wingers neither, it's true. Lennon inside left, walcott- striker? track?
