p.s. i'm worried about the baked goodies getting stale - the latest i can bake them is saturday, and we won't be in seattle till thursday... will they be gross by then?? i don't have much experience in this area, bc baked treats usuallly only last 2 days max in our house

anzac biscuits were purposely designed to not go stale, during WWII women in nz and australia used to bake them and mail them to the troops in europe who sometimes wouldn't get them until months later.

i can't vouch for the brownies though.

so ruby, if you can't resist digging in during the trip, go for the brownies first, since they're an unknown.

and since i've never had an anzac biscuit.

ok so i had a pretty big cry last night and today bc i was in such excruciating pain and nothing was working and it seemed to be getting worse, but jordan set me up in the car so my leg was propped up and i'm feeling much better now.

also: holy fucking shit i didn't know oregon had like this HUUUGE mountain range!! and also these crazy rock formations that make you feel like you're in arizona!!

no plans for seawa! visiting you tomorrow night, jaq's on friday - and bringing buckets of good cheer in the form of anzacs! that is all! i think jergins said we should visit the space needle, so we'll probably do that. we're in seawa for 3 nights so we have lots of time to use up.

it's raining in portland today :( so we are having a lazy morning and then going to my favouritest sock store in the whole world and then probably back to powells.

well seattle was GREAT - couldn't have asked for better hosts!!!!

highlights:
- dinner at lxy&jergz YUM
- WINNING the height competition*
- getting to spend tons of time hanging out with 2 of my fav ilxors
- getting a guided drive-by tour of the city (my favourite kind of tour)
- impressing everyone with my anzac bickies (?biccies?)
- this hotel bed
- jaq's rhubard & strawberry crumble

lowlights:
- didn't get to spend nearly enough time talking to jaq :( :(
- saying goodbye to 2 of my favourite ilxors :( :(

it was great to meet you and show you around, ruby. we had fun. i kind of hate my stick shift car, so god damn jerky, so i was glad to hear everyone liked the drive around and it wasn't like 'ok i am car sick let's finish this shit.'

we went everywhere you can go in two days, i think. i liked georgetown! i also liked the beach. most of all i loved the produce market though! i was thinking about it just now. we also went to kubota garden which was great. and tacky flea market, we got a sambusa from a somali lady and it was delicious. also the best public library. i did go to mine yesterday and did not lament its lack of things, i like them both.

also jaq's shower is awesome :)
