Pinch, "Qawalli"... alright, it was officially released this yr, but its been on mixes since April 2005... a flickering construct of delicately darting drum patterns, percolating sensual sub bass and aching eastern melancholy, one of the most strikingly beautiful pieces of electronic music I've ever heard

Anyway, I've tried quite a few new (and old) things because of this thread and I gotta say you guys were right about the Knife "Silent Shout". Believe it or not, I heard that for the first time tonight right after hearing Ultravox's "Vienna" album for the first time in its entirety. Really speechless at both albums right now. So much of the time synthesizer new wave era music seems shallow, throwaway to me, like bubblegum pop too thin to even blow any bubbles in. These two sound so substantial next to all that. What a breath of fresh air! Thanks ILM.
