I just watched a pile of late 40s/early 50s noir movies - brim angled to the side and forward = most rakish; brim straight and hat tilted back on yr head = earnest newspaper guy; brim straight and low over yr eyes = mean gangster; brim angled to the side and hat tilted back = drunk; if tie is also askew, ur super-dronk and about to be hit by a train/mugged

i miss walking past dick's on my way to the gym and snickering at fatties eating fat but i also do not miss walking past dick's on my way home from the gym and smelling hamburgers and being really hungry. also safeway that smelled like donuts ALL THE TIME.
