dmr (dmr), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 15:40 (seventeen years ago) link

"get innocuous" is AWES
"all my friends" sounds like an 8-minute killers song (make up yr own mind about that)

rest is yknow pretty sweet LCD sdsystem stuff - need more listens to clarify...

i'm kinda blown away by "all my friends" in that "whoa, now i wasnt expecting you for dinner" sort of way. still getting my head around this thing in general. "sound of silver" is pretty great, but may not sound that way the second time through. id say, at this point, that its a fun little record. some real nice sounds, some nice shufflin. but i scarcely listen to or closely consider the "dance musics" these days.

otherwise:
all that neil from ian
royal trux
good god! a gospel funk hymn
robert wyatt nothing can stop us
vampire can't key cutter
we are the monkees
my bloody valentine ep's
bjork vespertine
the fall the unutterable
donardo s/t
something quietish that i can't remember

bb (bbia), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 18:29 (seventeen years ago) link

last weekend's flea market pickup, mostly standards that for some reason I didn't already own:
Deep Purple - machine head
hawkwind - warrior on the edge of time
elp - tarkus
josh white comp
blue oyster cult - tyranny and mutation
steely dan - countdown to ecstasy

Also, after stepping over boxes and boxes of james last lps for how many years, I realize that I should have been looking for Voodoo Party all along.

bog pony, Wednesday, 6 December 2006 20:55 (seventeen years ago) link

I Don't Wanna Live Alone is possibly my most favorite Oblivians song ever.
