Me, neither.

I've been working at a laptop in a Panera for the past hour, watching a 60-ish guy from Istambul hit on every pretty lady who sits anywhere near him. Now he is wearing his winter cap and sunglasses. They are all very indulgent and patient with him, until he proposes sex.

Eazy (Eazy), Monday, 12 February 2007 23:55 (seventeen years ago) link

He's not unlike Serge Gainsbourg.

I'm IMing a friend of mine who lives far away and it's making me sad. I don't like being sad. I'm going to eat some ice cream.

Handgun O. Mendocino (pullapartgirl), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 00:08 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh, Jenny, don't be sad!

Here - watch this:

Okay, I'm not sad now because I'm going to visit my far away friend over spring break. Hopefully!

I celebrated not being sad any more by starting a new thread. Go make it awesome, Chicago.

I am uploading a "chilly" mix that I made, mostly for Jenny, but I'll put it on the blog for anyone who wants it.

Yesterday Courtney and I were eating sushi at a place on Broadway near Cornelia and we saw Jeff walk by, so I called him and we witnessed him pulling his phone out of his pocket and ignoring my call. Then I cried. Then I ate a delishi bite of sushi.

Didn't make the bed. Oh, fuck it.

there to preserve disorder (kenan), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 04:27 (seventeen years ago) link

OK, I've read through some of this thread and though I'm late, I want to say:

- The Mac guy is cute. I really, strongly miss the Dell Boy. The PC guy inspires pity in me.

- I love skiing, and it doesn't cost very much money if you live near some mountains. I never paid more than around $30, including lift tickets and ski rentals. One of the drawbacks to living in Chicago is that the skiing possibilities are limited and dissapointing. I learned to ski in Montana.

xpost-- nice.

That is all for now.

Metrosexual Healing (crunkleJ), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 04:44 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh, and NIGHT SKIING is especially fun.

Metrosexual Healing (crunkleJ), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 04:44 (seventeen years ago) link

I really, strongly miss the Dell Boy.

You are alone in this. Much like preferring a hairy back.

there to preserve disorder (kenan), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 04:52 (seventeen years ago) link

What? I don't prefer a hairy back. At all! That's Jenny.

I'm just saying, liking the Dell dude puts you in a small club.

just to be clear, we're talkign about his guy?

http://www.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/TV/01/31/dell.guy/story.dell.guy.jpg

You cream over this guy? really? you may be alone in the universe.

there to preserve disorder (kenan), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 05:07 (seventeen years ago) link

I didn't say I "cream" over him. I just really liked him. That's a bad pic. He is cute.

From the article that goes with the pic you posted:

Steven has now reached cult status.

But Ben Curtis, who plays Steven in the popular ads, doesn't try to figure out his newfound fame. "It's still a mystery to me," says Curtis, 21, an acting student at New York University in Manhattan.

Dell receives fan mail from a whole spectrum of people, from senior citizens to teen-age girls, USA Today reports.

But Ben Curtis, who plays Steven in the popular ads, doesn't try to figure out his newfound fame. "It's still a mystery to me," says Curtis, 21, an acting student at New York University in Manhattan.

Why is the ad so successful? It could be something in the pitchman's eyes, or eyebrows. Mostly, people appear to like his humor....

"I'll take the guy before I take the computer," added a fan who spotted him....

Curtis is so popular that it became difficult for him to complete a photo shoot this week without a fan shouting or running over to grab a little bit of him....

But Steven's appeal goes beyond his youthful age group. "I think he's the best thing since sliced bread," said one white-haired gentleman in Times Square, perhaps indicating the Dell guy does not appeal only to the teen set.

Where are you on that spectrum?

xpost, OK, you're right. That's kinda hot.

there to preserve disorder (kenan), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 05:18 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm alone with a lot of other vocal fans, apparently.

"He soon got the part after about 100 folks tried out. (WAY TO GO, BEN!) If he hadn't, where would we all be with out him? Ben also has an awesome September 11th story where he saved a woman at a subway."

"Ben Curtis, I worship you!!"

"The coolest guy in the world"

Metrosexual Healing (crunkleJ), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 05:23 (seventeen years ago) link

I take it back; I didn't realize that he was actually hot. I though he was just the Dell guy. And I want to punch the Dell guy.

You're right, though. The Dell kid is a total douche.

Handgun O. Mendocino (pullapartgirl), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 14:28 (seventeen years ago) link

Casino gig = soul sucking. The motto on their billboard was something like "Come for a night, leave with a story!" or some bullshit. One of the trombone player's decided his story was "I've never seen poor, unhappy old people smoke so much."

JordanC (JordanC), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 14:55 (seventeen years ago) link

I have never been to Vegas, but I have been to a LOT of casinos in places that aren't Vegas and let me tell you that to a one they have been some of the most depressing places I have ever, ever been.

Handgun O. Mendocino (pullapartgirl), Tuesday, 13 February 2007 14:59 (seventeen years ago) link

Vegas is one of those places I want to go so that I can have a real reason to hate it. Also, LA.
