i wish i knew. every time i export my video, i get a file with perfect audio and then video that is just white. which is IRONIC because i am editing episodes of the cosby show. still, a big bummer. i tried rashing my preferences and fcp seems to run better but i won't know if the problem is solved until i export my video again.

and then video that is just white. which is IRONIC because i am editing episodes of the cosby show

paresthesia hilton (get bent), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 17:47 (seventeen years ago) link

not really sure, but after trashing my preferences and upgrading quicktime, the problem went away. i also switched my scratch disk to my local drive. now i just need to figure out how to get FCP to automatically resize my clip up to 640x480 while exporting...

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Wednesday, 6 December 2006 17:50 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah, the real problem is that the cosby show is whiter than i'd like. i can't buy the plot if they're trying to pass dizzy gillespie off as vanessa's music teacher but they have him blow out his cheeks as soon as he enters the room and for some reason rudy knows exactly who he is and is very excited to see him even though she wouldn't be excited at all to see a teacher of vanessa's. ugh.

Jess, does yr insurance cover psych? Check yourself in, bro. Just for a week or something -- just don't forget that the option is open to you. My sister did it once, when suicide seemed pressingly certain. All ended well. Find a center/ward near you and get their number, just in case.

170. lost a cake copywriting job because I forgot to send a short email to a client saying "I will talk to you about this later on in the week." Instead, the client thinks I've gone AWOL and hires someone else behind my back. Summarily dismisses me with an email saying "i have hired another writer." It isn't the loss of this particular job that's the problem, it's the fact that my buddies who lined me up with the work will think I'm an irresponsible idiot and not hire me anymore.
